Hi-

I just started a new character bout 6 days ago, and i am a ranger 1/1/4/0. I am wondering how do rangers make money? What resources do people buy? What do they pay for them? Do people pay for camo? tracking? traps? Thanks in advance for helping out a noob.

First off, welcome to Ranger . How do we make money (based on our skills)? Well, few people will pay for camo. Tracking seems to be a somewhat lucrative, but somewhat limited (by increased spawn rates), way to make credits, IMO. Tracking is certainly an option.

The big money maker for Rangers is harvesting. Harvest from everyhting you kill. A quick breakdown of which professions need which resources is: Architects and Tailors need any quality hide, but they don't tend to pay as much as some other professions might. BE's need all sorts of meat (I am not sure what stats are important to them, so you may check on the BE forum). Armorsmiths need lots of hide (again..check the AS forum for what stats are important). Keep an eye on this thread which will eventually list the resources that other professions need and what stats they need to be high on said resources.

You will inevitably ask about pricing. Prices are server dependant as all servers have different economies. Your best gauge for pricing will be to see what that resource is going for on your server's trade forum. If need be just ask (on the trade forum).

Happy hunting .

another great things is to barter for services and equipment.

offer a nice stack of hides for a few sets of good armor, or meat for stims, or more meat for buffs, or other resources for pets.

In so doing, you will "make" money by not spending so much on other stuff.

Making money?

Recipe for credits!

1. Find a place to get some decent energy resources. Place a powergenerator. Make sure to put some maintenance in (well, after all, it costs money to make it)

2. Find some nice spot to mine some minerals (preferably copper or aluminium). Same here. Put down a harvester (needs maintenance as well as the energy retreived at step 1). Remember to keep some energy (see step 7).

3. Get some nice crafter tool which allows you to make a credit.

4. Stand near a WDG station.

5. Start crafting. Maybe you will be able to make a 1c/2c/5c/10c schematic... Maybe not.

6. Make a schematic(1000 runs).

7. Put this in a equipment factory. Put maintenance, energy (1), the minerals (2) and the schematic (5) into it. And start it!

8. Et voila, after a few hours you may have made some credits.

Now is a good time to harvest eggs and milk, at least on my server. I can't keep up with the demand.

I did/do the following

1. Harvest everything. Sell grind grade for low prices. When a good shift hits, get a lot. Sell 75%, hoard 25%. Sell the 25% when the shifts are all bad for wice what you sold the 75% for.

2. Get a wind generator and collect power. Then buy a chemical and a mineral harvestor. Place them near the wind generator. No artisan involved. Collect whatever is in the highest concentration, stats are immaterial. Sell as grind grade, 1-3 cpu. You will make money.

3. Run missions. Go kill stuff for 6-10k per mission. You get money, weapons xp, combat xp, scout xp, trap xp - total win win win win win situation,

31.18 million and counting. Had to buy a second PA the other day and that cut into the funds (not).
