Thread: Better Burst Run or Bust

Okay, it's obvious the EQ hatred of Rangers somehow trickled into the making of this game. Gimped again. I can accept it. I'm a Ranger at heart, even if I'm a crippled one. But they could make it at leastthe slightest bit less obvious. C'mon, not one point of Burst Run Efficiency throughout the entire Ranger profession layout? One of the only reedemable qualities of the Scout class itself, with Rangersbeing clearly Scout2, and still denied.

RANGERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE BURST RUNNING AT LEAST AS OFTEN AS THEY ARE REGULARLY RUNNING.

Supposed to be the masters of travel, masters of the wilderness, masters of terrain, and yet a plain old scout can get from Point A to Point B just as fast as a freaking Ranger. I am an elite wilderness trooper, with my key ability being able tohump the ground better. That's right- only our special, covetedtraining reveals the incredible secrets of... crawling... faster.

Hmm, seeing as how that is NO help to us at all, give it to Rifleman and give us something useful. Give us a break and give us something like +10 Burst Run Efficiency per Wayfaring level while you're at it, SOE. I'm not one to complain, but I know this would be a cakewalk to code and for the price I'm paying per month, I would certainly hope there's someone out there who is considering necessary changes like this and taking steps to make them.

Post if you're with me.

I could be wrong but I've noticed that Burst Run Efficiency just decreases the amount of pool points that it "consumes" when you activate it. It does not increase the amount of time you can burst run or how often you can do it. I haven't tested that theory yet but I did notice that the pool cost dropped dramatically as I progressed up the scout and ranger trees.

This would be another huge setback in our eventual vindication. I certainly hope not, though I haven't tested it either. Now that I look at the description, it is shady enough that you could be right. Anyone confirm or deny this? If this is sadly true, a Master Scout would be little better attraveling thana Novice Artisan with the proper stat point allocation.

I don't know... I just want my SoW. Is it so much to ask?

I think being able to swim faster would be nice as well

Good point. I don't see much water on Tattoonie, but it would be nice to know I'd be ready if there was any.

Yes, I'd like a +Swimming added to wayfaring...even if it wasn't much.

I think the reduction of burst run cost is already fine.. by the time you are a novice Ranger it only costs half. Instead perhaps the rangers could get a skill that reduces the "tired" phase between bursts (so you can do them more often).

That's exactly what I was proposing.
