Thread: Combat in Camps
Lets discuss combat while camping. This seems to come to a point of annoyance with me as I've recently been camping trying to earn XP only to have a darned creature aggro me into combat, thus breaking my camp.
So I pose the question, should you be able to defend yourself from camp without breaking it?
I've noticed that I can go outside the camp and sometimes kill a few things and return to the camp still in charge, but I haven't been able to determine if this is always true as I've had the opposite of breaking camp on the first shot fired.
The main abuse of this that comes to mind is that a doctor could heal you during combat while in a camp... thus the need to break camp if combat occurs... but could a solution to this be found so that we don't have to lose our camp control just because a creature attacked us?
For that matter, I'd enjoy being able to make a High Level camp that is more of a "huntingblind" than a "healing" camp. This could come in the form of trenches, sandbags, you name it.. just something that is set up to fight from that gives a small bonus somehow... even if healing is completely shut off in this sort of arrangement.
All in all... I'm just bummed that I can't set up a camp, hunt aroundthe immediate vicinity of my camp, and then return to rest. That should be possible imho...
What do you think?

I agree with your ideas.
I have heard that you could step out of your camp to kill a couple of things then be able to return (as long as you aren't gone for too long) and still be able to view camp status or disband if you want to. But the ONE time I tried that, my camp became unusable even though it didn't disappear right away. On top of that, I didn't get ANY xp for it when it DID disappear.
I would like to see the higher level camps be able to either repel all aggressives (like I thought they were supposed to) or stay up if the aggro happens within the boundaries of the camp. However, if the combat is initiated by the camp builder, the camp should disband automatically.
