As an ex ranger i remember the pain of the trapping linee so I decided to help a friend finish out the trapping line the other day and thought i would share this technique for anyone that is having issues with trapping.
Most of you already know that the best way to get trapping xp is to stick multiple traps on a creature. Adhesive mesh works quite well as an example. I am a MCM, my friend just wanted to finish out the fourth box of trapping since she was already really close to master on scout xp.
here is what we did:
here is what we did:
After selecting a suitable mission and loading up her toolbar with traps we proceeded to the lair. I then lured one Mob into positon by tossing a thyroid rupture on it then applied fore and poison on the mob while the ranger merrily chucked traps as fast as her timers would allow. when the mobs health reaches 1, i simply unarmed hit the mob or poke it with my trusty cdef canopener to make it keel over. then lather, rinse and repeat. The mobs will not aggro the ranger if you are using traps like the mesh and you can get 30K xp per creature quite easily. As a MCM i was tanking level 80s in my underwear so as not to damage my armor, so if you have a MCM friend this is a very fast way to finish out the trapping line.
Just thought I'd share this tip with you.

But, was the scout on dweezl? I have a trapping level of 60 atm without dweezl and was having a heck of a time trapping anything yesterday. I broke down and asked a guildie to make me a crate of dweezl in exchange for a lot of trim from my tailor. Just curious. I almost wonder if I'm tossing the wrong traps.

nope no foods. i think the trap/target combination makes a difference. I may be wrong but it seems you have better luck with certain combos
