Just tonight, mind you, so post pub-21.
Creatures are stalking, babies are fully grown (CL'd in other words,) which means we can harvest from them and get more than 1 unit, the special attacks are all creatureMeleeattack, shown as a code string. This was from every creature we passed. Kaumuriths, Purboles, Rancors, Shear Mites, and Reptilian Fliers. The babies have a bit more health than the adults, are still non-aggro, and are still smaller than the adults.
Post any changes you have noticed here, please.

Yep - I can confirm this. When Rab and I examined certain creatures we could see a special attack listed. That attack was always some cryptic melee string (looks like the reference in the string table is broken lol), but we could see a special attack. Not all critters had the attack though. And also, and best yet, I asked my friend who has some scout but no ranger to examine a critter and he told me that he could not see a special attack listed, so this might be our long lost examine ability (well maybe a vestige of it).
LOL - is this some sort of stealth ranger fix? well, the first half of maybe getting our examine ability back?

Getting the internal text string for a pet special attack? For how many points in the tracking line? Sounds like Rangers are just about finished as far as bug fixes go.

hadn't commented on this when I saw it on TC as a lot of stuff we see there never appears here.
That and I wasn't sure if it was the 'ranger' or the 'CH' in my toons build that was doing it.
Will keep an eye open tho.

I assume this is a bug, but my faction pet helps me to kill creatures now
Our guilds other Ranger watched a guy soloing kimo's with an AT-ST last night.

a-yup, that'd be a bug. Faction pets should only help you against the opposing faction.

Oh no....that is horrible. I remember when we all lobbied hard to get that removed way back. That was pre player cities as I recall. Thankfully Krayts aren't dropping high quality pearls yet. They better jump on this and get it fixed.

No, but I saw one EAT a dirty rebel the other day... maybe the AT-ST was going after a rebel in it's belly that wasn't quite... done... yet?

If they do fix it I hope it takes a long time. I remember when I got my first AT-ST and din't know that they couldonly be used to attack factioned NPC and the like. I immediately went outside of town, called my mighty bi-peddled hunting buddy, and directed it to begin obliterating the dreaded, yet lowly, Kreetles swarming around Mos Eisley. If this is now "working" I can wait the get back to the try it out.
Good hunting and clear skies.

Taming CL21 narglatches and CL22 female narglathes with maskscent on. Maskscent rarely (ever?) broke, but I was often being attacked by them. I would usually casually kill-off the adults with my rifle then go swimming to get the baby to stop attacking then go tame it, however this is now how I thought I understood agro changes were supposed to be working.
Every one I tried examining (not many of the hundreds I killed/tamed) showed a cryptic melee string, and did not seem to coincide with whether or not the creature would have an innate special.
Finally stopped after getting 6 different pets with unique specials. 3 specials came from narglatches and the other 3 were a kreetle, nightspider, and Owen's monkey. If you aren't planning on keeping the pet, your best bet is to get all your specials from C2-4 creatures (their XP rolls come so much faster you can learn the special very quickly) as long as you or someone else is tanking. I joined a guild CL80 grind group and just sent them in after the ones the group had already attacked and leveled the low pets very fast (3 specials learned in under an hour).
