I have MCH/MRanger and I will tentatively say that with this new CH system it is possible to hold your own easily with that template. The night before last I was in an 8 person lvl 80 group. We all got level 80+ missions on Endor. I zonked out and had to log before my missions were complete so the next night I finished them up solo. No deaths and no incaps. I thought nothing of it but apparently my husband was amazed and didn't think any of their combat templates could have done it solo. Gave me the warm fuzzies.

However, keep in mind that this is as an established MCH. The CH line will probably take you a while to get up and you won't be controlling creatures that can stand up to this kind of combat for a while. I have also read there is some problems getting CH xp at the early levels, if your CL is high you won't get xp for the level of creatures your pet can fight without dying. You may want to check the CH boards for info about this. I think this can be worked around with a good group hunt however. With a rifleman in your group your pet will never hold aggro long enough to get hit anyway.

Right now I am finding MCH/MRanger very interesting and surprisingly efiicient. For the first time since the CU I can hunt alone again if I want to, its very nice. And with a BE alt or customers - I can't tell which you are talking about - you will always have an edge on getting great pets and stims.

Ty ...I think you just made me use my final respec ....Rifleman is a bit boring compared to CH andI can still use a adv laser with great efficiency with my riflemods

For a combat profession? BH is the most efficient for skill point usage, since it only requires the combat line of marksman. I have points tied up in FS so I don't have a very good combat ability to match with MCH/MRanger. Maybe someone else can share their experiene with dabbling BH vs. dabbling Rifleman.

Also, there is a great web based template builder. Unfortunately I don't have access to my PC with my bookmarks. Maybe someone can post a link to it. As an alternate, there is one you can download on bloodfin.org.

MRanger/MCH? I don't know what would go with this... it's very week in defense mods and other stuff. Try a skill builder.. maybe BH since it uses some Scout skills and won't tie up quite as many SP

MCH/MRanger with BH0300 for Improved Critical Shot is possible, and uses all your points. Its also possible to make that BH3000 for Investigation III, if you wanted to do BH missions

Personally I would go for the ICS, as having a special with a chance to crit sounds like a good idea for a profession combo that has no weapon skils. So you would have the basic weapon specials, Improved Critical Shot, and Spray Shot.

Sounds good I though about SL too, but im sure if it even works with pets And that is a prof that is in a similar sad state as ranger..
