Thread: Mutant Ackalay

Thats what i've started to do when going after things under that level 75. I just make 2 waypoints, one about 100m away from where the critter is and the other about 50m away. Now i guess these are pretty conservative (Thanks Nemo0!!).
And i'm sorry to hear your getting so frusterated.
But good luck on that second round with the mutant Acklay!! (The trophy is pretty scarey looking to me
!)
-RETREAT- is a PitA, especially if you are a single elite combat master (like Rangers) and enjoy soloing.
Also, kiting is about the only sane tactic here (istr back in the old days kiting was 'bad form') but you need to stay within ~100m of the critters spawn point/lair.
OTOH, it can be useful for trapping to kite out beyond the beasties comfort zone, let it run back home, then just follow it and blat more traps on it again. Taking a bit of a psting? the old health bar vanishing through the left hand side of the monitor? /burst run for the safe zone and hope tha tyou've not got the one blimmin' muppet critter that WILL follow past 100m
Right. no shuttle landing today. Better go do some work... sheesh

It's very annoying but you can avoid it by keeping the creature within 200m of its spawn point (or some range like that). So, instead of running in a line, just kite in a circle. It's a bit harder to do but it is possible.
Yeah, it's a LOT harder to do on Yavin IV too, with those small/thin trees and tiny rocks that can block your path and stop you dead in your tracks...

and lvl78 klikniks all around.....
I have been doing a lot of missions for the cash lately, got an new crafter account I need to support.
I have notice this 'retreat' is really a pain. I am a melee Ranger and one of my tactics is to trow a trap, runn bhind a hill or rock (especally for ranged critters) and wait for them to get close. At one point with some melee critters, I was 2 hill's away. As said critter was chargeing me, it went into a vally....boom...retreat....could not trow anymore traps, had to actually run up to it and bonk it on the head to get its attention.
