Well I guess it has happened. With the nerfing of combat xp down to 30:1 in the village it seems master ranger with its 1.2mill xp cap is the new village grinding prof. Mydaily tells usually consisted of MCHers looking for a spawn or help with the Hero of Tat or maybe a Bio-Resource contract. Now its 'How do I get Ranger', 'Is ranger easy', 'Where do i get resources for the Camo Kits', 'Trapping xp seems like a hard grind'. And so on....


Commandos have finally got the nade monkey off their back and it seems to have switched to us. I am a long time ranger who does use the village to convert - more in a 'when its 'ready' way than persistant grinding. But its a shame the prof is now the one with the most favorable conversion. Capping takes a few lairs and yields 150k FS...far quicker than any weapons xp now.


I enjoy ranger and deal with the current problems but am concerned with an influx of people to the profession as a means to an end.


Just wondered how other people feel about this...

Well their in for a suprise when they find out that all that scout xp only gets them luck, persuasion, med stuff and something else that is so pointless i can't even remember it. The commando stuff at least got them combat mods. I would think BH would be the new FOTM because you can cap Rifles/Carbs/and Pistols at 900k each. and Weapons xp is a lot more helpful for the helpful boxes

Yeah the general consensus now is that FS skills make little difference to a Jedi. The mod benefits are minimal at best. Most people care about getting Jedi the fastest way possible......which worryingly seems to be Master Ranger.


9 caps (1.2mill scout xp) = 1 FS tree. And to be honest capping scouting really isn't that long a process.


Oh and as for BH being FOTM - I agree in part as it is still the best way to max out what you convert but even if you cap EVERYTHING you will only get 120k FS (which means 900k combat which is unliekly now)- Less than capping scout and something that takes considerably longer - ALMOST 3 times as long for 30k less FSxp

BH would be a better choice. 900k of each weapon, BH XP (not sure but it could be 1:1) plus you get combat XP.


and it's funny- the people who think it doesn't matter what mods you have are the ones that are going to be getting their butts handed to them in serious PvP when a person with the same template, but with the FS defense, accuracy and speed mods pwns them because they chose poorly on FS skills.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

I doubt the mods would matter in this case either. They'd still be the ones dying if they had the "better" template. Grinders are rarely thinkers and thinking can help quite a bit in PvP. These players will all take the FotM template, use all the standard tactics and macros, and then whine when someone who actually knows how to play beats them.

I been saying this awhile. I see this goobers running gurk groups to level gain xp and they have no clue how to tap a lair. They AOE the lair, hit the ferals and wonder why they got a db from them since most gurks dont DB. If they are this bad at running lairs then what about actual pvp jedi/bh hunts? 3.2mil senses xp banked and counting plus 4 boxes of FS healing (never trade more than once per week even though capped half-way through a hunt) but only 600k reflexes xp (after training vehcile control 3).

Someday, the FRS will get fixed and they will be permanently handi-capped even if they do eventually learn to play... maybe with their alt after they get bored with their flashlight?

I've already seen plenty of posts from people (and heard it from some guildies) asking to be able to trade in their jedi xp for FSXP and learn up a new tree and drop an existing one because they chose poorly.

The fact that the scout and traps xp goes to senses doesn't seem to bother them. I went into the dark, twisted woods that make up the Jedi forums, and it seems that the attitude is "it doesn't matter what FS skills they are, as long as I can get my six branches filled fastest". Of course, as that forum tends to generate a lot of posts, there may have been a lot of counter-arguments by now.

Edit: Actually, as I think of it, it was the FS forum, not the Jedi forum. Not that there is much difference between them sometimes....
