Thread: Am I the only one who thinks crawling speed and conceal are ok?
I love crawling! It is a close to stealh as we are going to get. It certainly helps with our camo mods. I can crawl nearly as fast as my friends walk, and I don't draw attention from critters when I do. My best example of crawling is: I was on Dath before camo worked properly and was cost prohibitive. I died in combat, and had to get back to my friends. There was no easy way to get back to them since there were Nightsisters all around. First trip through I tried to burst through....dead. Second trip through I tired walking past....dead. Last time I tried crawling through and I made it. If I didn't have the speed mod, I would have died of old age trying to get through the sisters on my belly.
Conceal is great! It is no loger cost prohibitve to make kits and they work as well asI would expect. I would hate to not have any risk while walking up to an aggro mob. It makes it a little more exciting. It does not drop excessively for me, like it seems to for some other rangers. I would possibly like to see it go back up after combat, but as it stands now I can afford to simply use another kit, if I need to.
These were just some thoughts, since I have seem some grumbling lately about these two issues.
I like the crawl speed as well.
As for conceal I haven't made up my mind yet.
Personally... I find /conceal to be quite handy.
- I do have a gripe about that last"drop immediately on start of combat" hotfix... I really liked the "incur damage" approach better.

As for crawling... I have never crawled.
- My Medic can't crawl as fast as me, so the ability is not particularly useful.
- Perhaps we need a Group Crawling bonus.

Maybe we need a Crab Walking Skill too. lol
I can see it now. A group of people crab walking into Mos Entha is spotted by an Artisan.
"Hide the women and lock the doors ! The Rangers are in town !"
Sorry bro, I could not resist. lol

Well... That would make us distinctive... ![]()
I personally like the conceal...though I would like them to change it back so it drops when taking damage instead of when combat is initiated. I use it all the time especially when farming faction points in a heavy traffic area. I can put it on while overt and get to my missions without having to kill a bunch of NPC's from other people's missions along the way.

I think crawl speed is fine and shouldn't be sacrificed for other skills. I have heard people say "Take away crawl speed and give us better (fill in the blank)
I don't think that NOT crawling should dish out such big penalties regarding detection either. I hate slowing down to increase my camo success. But once in a while I will crawl up to my target before I fire my first shot.
But then camo drops now anyway and that sucks and is a whole problem in itself.
I'm ok with conceal. There are a few patterns I am seeing though:
It drops across zone lines, thinking you have engaged in combat.
It drops when a group member engages in combat.
I still get stalking messages while I am concealed -- Is that working as intended?
None of the above happen enough to ruffle my feathers, so to speak. Yet, it happens enough to notice.
Crawling? Its fun. People have laughed and said they love watching me. I just don't feel that it is enough. Perhaps if those points for terrain negotiation were paired with a slight overall increase to speed & swimming...
Have completely dropped the Wayfaring line, crawling fast is useless to me and I just wasn't using conceal very much (read hardly ever) I can avoid mobs and NPCs better than /conceal can protect me from being seen. I found I was more paranoid when using /conceal because you NEVER know when it is going to drop on you and find yourself gettin pummelled by the mob who broke your conceal and all his friends who decided to follow him.
The points were put to much better use in the Carbineer branches.
