Thread: tracking a worthwhile way to make money?
Needless to say, I was somewhat embarassed. I thought my tracking skill would be tops in the game, but it apparently isnt any better than just walking around and searching.
Anyone else run into this problem?

Yes, by the sounds of the choices given by other Rangers in the Top 5 Debate thread, the usefulness of /areatrack will be quite high in our next Report to the developers.
Yes, /areatrack needs some help. I've been roaming all over Dantooine today, and it was common for my /areatrack to show no results, only to stumble upon a lair of Pikets or Voritors, which were definitely within the 500m range of my tracking. Same situation as that Grand Wrix you guys were looking for.
What I'm thinking, is these animals are spawning in randomly, but not at nearly a far enough distance for /areatrack to be any good.
I would love more than anything for the /areatrack command to get a range extension (I don't see how that could hurt anyone, or cause any sort of balance issues whatsoever), but what good would that do when animals don't even spawn until I'm about 80m away from them?

Oddly enough, I was doing the same thing last day...
- Ihowever had better results with /areatrack. The command worked very wellin directing me tothe rather sparse pockets of creatures on the planet.
The skill appears to be entirely hit and miss... Depending on the server, the planet, the time of day, whether you are jumping up and down on your left leg... ![]()
- Once the developers give it a second pass (whenever that will be
), I'm sure it will be a veryreliable tool... Until then, don't rely on it too much.
