Thread: A Note About Camps and Aggressive Creatures
I was just reading through another post where someone mentioned howthe"aggro repulsion"feature of our camps is broken, a fact we've all known for a long time. It did, however, remind me of something I was going to share with you all a few days ago (and forgot!).
I was out on Lok with some guildmates hunting kimogilas. Ideally we were looking for a giant dune kimo, as we're after the scale for our guild armoursmith, but throughout most of the night we'd had no luck, killing giant, regular, enraged and dune kimogila's but no sighting of a Giant Dune(despite my constant tracking).
After three or four hours we decided we decided to give the kimo's a rest and go find some corsairs to kill instead. I'd not longset down a Field Base(we wererebuffing) when "pop" -seventy or eighty metres away a giant dune kimogila appears! "Fantastic" we think, and continue to get ourselves buffed and prepared for thefight.
As we did so the giant dune kimo meanders slowly our way. As he gets within sixty metresI'm asked if my camp repulses aggressors. Itell them it's bugged. We all start to get a little nervous but sit tight all the same...
He continues closer.Forty metres, within aggro range. By now we're prepared butalso a little intrigued. He doesn't seemtohave caught our scent just yet....
Thirty metres.... then twenty....
Now, by the time a Giant Dune Kimogila is twenty metres away from you his nose is practically in your face. In this case, he came right upto us, stuck his head in the camp, snorted, turned and trotted away. He'd wander out a few metres, turn round and come back to investigate again, once more standing right on top of the camp, metres away from us, before turning and wandering away.
We were in awe. Never before have I got this close to a kimogila without drawing aggro (although I've just got some new maskscent tissues so I might have to try!). What I don't know is, was this the camp or a wierd stroke of luck?
I'd love to know if anyone else has had a similar experience, as my camps have failed me often enough before now that I'm intrigued.
Just so you know what happened next, two more kimo's spawned behind the camp and a huge fight broke out in seconds. We got involved, dropped three more giant dune's after that, but never got our drop.
Oh well, just the way it goes. Was great fun though!
