HUNTING LODGE/CABIN
Hunting cabins remain and probly always will close to my heart. They are my 'ultimate' goal after we get our hunting sorted out but i dont think before. What i ask though is:
With ranger hunting cabins most likely being on advanced planets, what is the benefit to having a vendor in it to provide organic sales over a vendor in a mall in theedfor example?
I just dont thinks its an exciting 'worthwhile' feature because i guarentee i can sell every last organic i harvest withoutrequireing the buyer to run out to a hostil and costly (time and ticket) advanced planet by having my vendor in my theed mall. Dont get me wrong it could be cool but it wouldnt be long before it came redundant.

That I can agree with (retracts previous statement!)
And thanks for the clarifications on the "vendor" in camps idea. that makes more cent$ to me now.

Maybe something to add to master ranger for foraging rare items. Maybe not rare rare items but maybe to loot crystals, better compants to make things for better traps, better food then a chef can make(food that lasts 3-6 hours adds 1-2k to a stat's or something 100 filling) locked boxes, rare art, and just rare items just that u get from foraging

Hello from Chimaera
, I have been Master Ranger pretty much since the server started and for some reason have not posted on this forum before (although I check it regularly). However this is a great post and keeps providing us rangers with some hope that indeed our profession will get fixed soon, I find the only rangers left are the ones who love the profession and as was mentioned previously other professions cannot understand why we waste over half our skill points on a profession which at the end of the day gives little rewards in respect of this investment.
Im sure you all feel like I do in that the tag of Master Ranger and the dream of what this can and hopefully will entail is what keeps is all going. Heres looking to future updates very soon.
kudos to you owen-lars on a great post which mixes some outdoorsman ideas with some new ones.

Wow Great ideas owen
one thing that would be cool to add is a high dodge modifyer against creatures cause a ranger would be able to read and prodict animals and maybe a way to tell the OQ of hides and meats
hehe also ijust the weapons i had a comment about the weapons..
for a bow would you have to craft arrows for it or would it be modeled after a wookie bowcaster ( a blaster type weapon)
and about the dager hehe i would like to see it used on a rencore... hehe might work better as a sword or short sword
but yeah that completly blows my ideas out of the water
Nice job

when craft is working heh
But ya theres no point, an easier thing to do and most beneficial thing would be to have a ranger database with terminals in camps. These terminals can have player added current resource info on them, and also provide FAQ's, guides and general info to the ranger community.

Hey here is one idea i was just thinking about why on yavin doing missions for avian meat and getting pissed that my missions are never showing up. Rangers chould beable to get more missions at a time. As a master ranger beable to get like 6 missions then just the 2. After all we are hunters right why not beable to hunt more things at once. maybe make it so every box in ranger on one of the trees u can add a mission. Maybe would be box one 3 missions then 4,5,6 and master get 8 missions. Just an idea.

A good concept mate.
But i was hoping we could push ranger in the direction that we no longer have to rely on missions to harvest. We could 'spawn' our own lairs via 'track'
I was trying to enhance a statement the devs made when they said they didnt like the ammount of money coming into the economy (ie mission payouts) I think being able to spawn our own lairs and not getting payout for them would help in this, at the same time increase our harvesting effectivness and provide a nice track feature to use.
But what about if those 6 mission we took were all south or in the same direction. Then another ranger selects another 6 south and then another, then other players select 2 south. When we get near the missions they will spawn and would clutter the landscape to no end.
It already gets cluttered on dant with solo mission lairs but this would make things alot more packed.

Hello. I guess I am a noob on these things, but I love all the ideas on this thread. I looked at the Outdoorsman thing and I read it like 8 times to memorize it. I think the devs should hire a **edit**load of people to look at all of these and give them reports and what we want(Or at least give us their e-mail addresses so we can spam our complaints to them ^_^).
I am sorry, not trying to flame the peoplewho hate the idea, but the module camps sound great. It is nothing more than making/buying a object and putting it into a slot. Chefs have it in the... damn it... the place where they put the BE stuff. The DE profession is nothing but modules. And so on.
About the miragtion thing, I like the CDM one. Very nice and for one thing we get resistances to both melee and ranged.
Trapping should get a complete overhaul. The trap launchers sound really good. When I first started I thought traps would be something like a bear trap, not some canistar that you throw. I mean come on. That is no trap that is more like a net granade or something(hehe I guess I use 'something' alot).
/drool on the weapon stuff. I like TearranVanu's idea about the dagger, it should be a machet or some kind of long, lightweight dagger. As for the bows loved it. Arrows should be crafted by use though. Weaponsmiths got enough on their hands and they deal with blasters and such. The devs should put in a reasource we get from avians called 'tail feathers' or something(I did it again
). It can be used for the fleching. As for the shaft maybe bone for a weaker one. Wood for a better one. We can use our daggers/swords/machets to cut off branches and crave them into shafts. Or we can just buy wood(Finally gives artisans a reason to harvest it, I don't know if architects use it in anything never done it). For the arrow tips, again, we use bone or buy metal. For the 'flaming arrow' or one of the other ones we gather herbs(something that I think we should be able to do, maybe make some **edit**y meds like a potion that heals 20 strangth wounds) and make little vials that have a potion that we dip the arrowheads into to give them the speical abilities. For the bows themselves, wood and maybe another new reasource 'gut strings'(Ranger only) but that might be a little gross...dang it. I can't think of anything for the strings but that is what I got.
That is all I have for now. I hope you guys/girls like it. I don't think it is to bad for a newb replyer.

Marksman 4/4/3/3, Scout 4/3/4/2( =( I wish I was a ranger), Medic 1/0/0/1
P.S.
If anyone has a good way to get Survivial xp fast please put in in a reply. Another thing. How do you do those cool name things?

Well here is an idea to work with missions. You know how u have to have a pet lv to call higher lv pets. Well maybe work on that system for getting missions. To get a enraged rancor mission it is something like 115-120 lv of dif. Well maybe make it as a master ranger u can take a total of like 400 lv missions. So that would be 3 enaged rancor missions and about 40 left over points. This could also be put in for all players but cap it for any non rangers at 250 points. This could open up harder missions, as in u can get harder rancor missions that are 200 dif. Just means more guarding the nest and more spawn pit of the nest. Just a lil idea to work off of.

nice
Lots of work though.
But again it would be bringing more money into the economy. It would make us very desirable to groups though.
