Ehem, thanks, I think.
Hey I'm starting to see how we can sell this to CH from others ideas here.
1. make sure scouts get the ability to have TN transfer to a mount, as they are asking for anyway. Helps us since we are scouts.
2. give us the ability to shoot specials from mounts
3. tell CH that with those two changes, there will be too whole professions in the need for buying trained mounts. The scouts cause of their new TN transfer, and us for TN and combat from mounts.
4. further point out how speeders pretty much took mounts out of the market, as well for making our TN pretty much useless. numbers 1 and 2 will mean basically 2 new markets for mounts that the CH will be providing for.
Will that help Calc?
We are certainly making progress

another thing we can do for the CHs, is ask that the ability to have a creature attack while mounted go to them... it does make sense in this scenario, the ranger will either rely on his combat profession or his creature handling abilities to fight, whereas a CH utilizes his pets asthe weapon...
we could ask that the "/mountattack" command be put in the creature empathy line, to beef it up.. it is currently probably the weakest of the CH lines - and the only one in which a dabbler would not climb (for now)...
i think when you look atmounted combat and you divide it into two categories: "rider in combat" and "mount in combat".. it is easy to see these belonging to two different professions... the former would be rangers, the latter would be creature handlers... afterall, if their weapon is their creatures, i see no reason why the creature couldn't attack with them riding it - if anything they have more control when they are on it...
creature handling itself should not give anyone the ability to use other combat skills from mount, but using their own skills from mount only makes sense...

We are certainly making progress. I will let this be known now:we will most likely have to debate with the CH over this issue, BUT I WILL NOT TAKE IT TO THIER FORUM!!!! They want to discuss this, they can come here. I learned my lesson after the million monky debacle.
woohoo!!
OK calming down now. hehe
Calc, IMHO I don't feel the need or the curtocy to take any prof. ideas to other prof it might effect. That's the job of the devs. I do see the benefit of thinking about what prof might not like or get upset, and be prepaired for that. But I do not feel we should even feel oblidged to present this CH or anyone. Scouts do share a close tie to us, us all being master scouts. But thats it. No other prof takes there ideas to to other prof, and even though the rangers are considered the "nice/cositerate guys" I agree lets not looking for trouble.
