First off, welcome to the looneybin... Err... I mean, welcome to your new profession.
Well. Master marksman is not really all that powerful. You would do better by going for either a pistoleer, carbines or rifleman (Rifleman is quite popular at the moment) and focus on one weapontype. Or perhaps some other profession template that people suggest.
I would suggest that you get your trapping line up first. Once you get higher up in level it will be harder for traps to hit (And thus give xp)if you don't take it first. Then you can concentrate on whichever line you want (I'd take exploration or hunting first because they help more than survival).
Bones, hides and meat is used to make many things in this game. For instance, Doctors and Medicsuse meat for stims and buffs. Architects use some types of hide to make furniture, and Armorsmiths use hides and bone to make many types armor armor. So they are used quite alot. And it can be quite profitable to sell the right qualityto the right people.

Welcome to the ranger forums... we're all pretty friendly here and have a great community.
On the top of the forums, you will find some stickes that will give you TONS of great information about being a ranger, leveling ranger and tactics to be a ranger.
If you want to be a ranged combatant, i would (as the other has said) pick master rifles, master carbines, or master pistols, or master bounty hunter. All are good professions and complement ranger well.
There are some issues right now (see those in the ranger issues threads)
If you dont find answers in the threads up top, feel free to ask... oh.. and also, check out the scout forums, Vorpaks is brilliant and has put up some great tutorials about leveling scout which also apply to ranger.
