Where have you been calc? How many times has the Holocron post been revived?

Ahhh...I consider that as a different case because it had steady input since it was posted. It never had 6 months between post dates on it .

Odd part is, this is STILL the current form of the proposal, even after all this time. I would add, however, that perhaps the modules could, at the devs option, be items erected in the camp already deployed by a profession that the module is releated to (like CH for the vet module) or general use to give the sense of everyone helping build a really nice camp .

I think i understand what you mean fred.

Like the ranger pitches the HTFB and adds his/her modules, then a doc may add his and a ch his and a sl his?

But the ranger always stays the base profession that sets up the basic camp unit?

Yes. It would make us popular again and the camp would grow as the modules add up

Monsofo...I appreciate your comments, butI think I had better step in before someone takes offense at you comments. You are probably right, Squad Leaders and other profs need to fight for their own stuff, but let's not alienate anyone here.

The modular camp proposal came from a desire to actually include as many profs as we could in the proposal. The goal was to make camps as useful as possible, and some of the modules only made sense to have other profs involved in (deploying, crafting, etc.).

As one of the people who was the biggest fans of Modular Camping, I'd like to say that N'Rass included the SL in order to help us...if we have the devs implement Modular Camping for SLs....then we have all the right in the world to ask for it for ourselves. We also get a balance. SL's would leak PvP fights, but Ranger would be the go-to guys for hunting. Perhaps the wise thing to do is to post a thread on the SL board seeing if they don't like the idea. If they don't...so much the better if we get it implemented. Then we get a unique skill.

Either way, we need to have many profs to make this work, so it's best to make everyone as happy as possible.

Plus, I am not opposed to either form of modular camping: whether you add a module bought from a Master proffession, or a master has to place them in the camp themselves (i.e. a Dancer has to drop a stage module, a Weaponsmith has to drop a rocket launcher module) I just want to see this work. It will give people more ofa reason to master non-combat profs and will allow several proffessions to have usefullnes in the wilderness where as they might not have had anybefore.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Not be be rude or flipant but step in and? I don't follow..

Are you asking me not to post ideas? Think more on language? I am not sure what direction I should take... please advise

I had thought that I did that in a fairly nice way in what you have mentioned (highlighted in red). What my point was that SL should be deciding what neet stuff they get to add to camps etc, we should not be pushing the idea to the Dev's or otherwise, any more than most Rangers would feel if another profession were pushing ideas that they came up with on the Ranger profession. My first post was gobbled by SOE and Lithium, so my second post was a bit more hurried as I was leaving work for the day so I think I left out a few paragraphs.

Nevermind. I was wrong to comment on this thread. I was not helpfun and therefore, it was not worth posting. I am sorry.

Ah that would rock. Imagine people actually shouting for our help in groups

Would the modules have a visual effect? Like would stables be put up in one module area of the camp where a CH puts his Animal Shelter?

That would rock. There would be 4 footprints on a HTFB base kit. The kit would look nice as normal, like it is now. But has 4 square blocks (perhaps the same size as the concrete shelters in the HTFB) dotted around the camp in various areas. All the player would have to do is, walk up to one of the footprint blocks and access the terminal, add their module in and BING it apears as part of the camp )))

Oh man i can picture it now

Every camp would be different visually as well and functionally

I can agree with that, the more I ponder on Fred's idea, the more "ooooo" factor I get, the only drawback I see is that to get say a vetranary bay you would need to have a BE around, or to add a Garage you would need a (Master?) Artisan around. Now I am wondering if you want to add a garage because you are going to be in-the-middle-of-nowhere on Dathomir for a few days (even in a party) how often would a Master Artisan be with you? What about say the Doc/Musican stuff got added by players on site and some of the others could be crafted in to kit.

hmm i dont think a garage would require a master artisan to add it, just a master artisan to craft it
