Cabins should act as a house. It should take up lots instead of automatically only bieng able to have one.

I would play and master such a class. Too bad it'll never see the light of day, or will do so when it wont matter anymore.

"Why can't the Ranger Bows be used on people too? If you can hit a creature with it you should be able to hit a person with it too. "

- It's a balance issue.

- Many Rangers believe that by limiting it to creatures (which is supposed to be our speciality), we can ask for greater options, without impinging on the other professions.

"Cabins should act as a house. It should take up lots instead of automatically only bieng able to have one. "

- It should be noted that players were not originally supposed to have more than one house per character (only Merchants were allowed to have two).

- However, the development team found out too late that the restriction was not working to resolve it.

- I don't think they would intentionally allow a new building system to be implemented without the restriction.

N'Raas, Fantastic job compiling this list. I agree with everything you said.

Regarding the Ranger only bow:

I believe a bow will be very starwarsy. Didn't jango used a dart to kill that other BH in curruscant? A dart !!

It will definitly help the class quite a bit, perhaps it could even replace the trapping line. You could add arrows that have better effects on creatures, with a longer range than scout traps. For AoE effects you can make make the arrows with exploding heads. They dont necessarily kill creatures but they definiytly help!!

Ypiana I really like your space explanation about the bow and arrow in space!! Good thinking there!

"From the Dev Posts it sounds like the Ranger line is about to get a bunch of goodies like lures and hunting blinds anyway, so I think we should concentrate on fixing the stuff that SHOULD be working but is broken orcompletely impractable like the stuffI listed in the Top 5 debate."

- I agree.

- Even though a significant number of people suggested a focus issue on traps... We should wait for GreenMarine to provide more information on his thoughts regarding these before pushing the issue.

"Those would be nice too, but I'd like to start fixing what we should have right now."

- Most Rangers agree, and the majority of the suggested focus issues seem to indicate just that.

- The selection of the Top 5 will continue for the next day or two.

- After that I will use the Issues listed in the State of the Professionto flush out the chosen, along with possible resolutions defined in the list.

----

- It's good to have agoodbalancebetween Issues / Resolutions, and brand new Requests.

- It keeps the forum active and imaginative (and definitely talkative )

- It alsogives outsiders a glimpse into how exciting and adventurous this community really is.

"Did anyone watch the movies...doesn't the beginning say, "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...?" "

- The Star Wars genre has been related more to Fantasy than to Sci-fi.

- Consider Jabba's guards carrying Pikes.

- Consider Jedi feats (thought Lucas attempted to explain that away in Phantom Menace )

- A Bow would fit the Fantasy genre...

- The question is whether the developers (and Lucas Arts) is pushing more in the Fantasy direction, or in the Sci-fi direction.

I would like to see a bow or any other "Hunting Only" weaponthat will make killing animals more of a skill and/or anart. I like to travel and explore planets so my need to kill player characters or NPCs is real low. I chose carbineer as my combat profession, but it doesn't seem right cutting downbunnys with a sub machine gun. It would feel better impaling them to the dirt and letting them bleed to death.

As for the Meat/Hide/Bone Harvester Idea....If it were to be added as it is now, I wouldn't use one. I support a few people in their profession's resources, including power and minerals. With a house and 6 various extracotrs,a minefield plus a factional scanner (for those pesky rebels) I have no more lots. With my bonus to harvesting, I can pull up 2Kresources in an hour, solo hunting. A 6 land plot harvester idea would almost be useless to me, unless it didn't take up land plots or just one and had a different approach to it. Possibly randomly catch one creature of a certain type, using bait. The bait would determine the type of creature cought, depending on the level of the ranger. Better traps catch higher level creatures. If the traps are not checked within a certain time, the animals dies and the meat is either eatin by other animals or goes rotten. Thus a live animal would be at the trap and would need to be killed (Combat EXP would be silly to give out when killing a trapped animal) then harvested. Setting a limit to the number of traps would be fair.A ratio to the Ranger's Skill? I will spend a day going out an hunting down a certain resource. If I am looking for Naboo's Wooly hides which is really good on the Eclipse server right now, I need to find either a Peko Peko or a Galulama. Knowig that there will be a few in an area held down by traps would be nice. Even setting down a few and waiting for one to get trapped would be nice also.

However which way the Devs decide to go, the upcoming improvmentsis a sign that there is care and concern for our class. I have no complaints in how this class has been developed thus far, so keep up the good work. I know more fun is in store for the future.

I think I have a problem with the whole "bow" idea completely (was there another thread discussion on this I missed?).

It seems totally out of genre to have a low-tech bow in Star Wars. Is there an in-genre alternative that would essentially do the same things that people are requesting? For instance, we have the Bowcaster for wookies, but this is a beam weapon even though it looks like a classic crossbow.

Again, Ted Nudgent, Rambo.

There are some really high-tech bows out there, complete with balance rods and laser sights.

"Btw... anyone ever talk to you about your liberal use of "-" and bulliting every sentance with it?"

- No, you are the first one to mention it.

- I find it easier to read than run-on sentences, and massive paragraphs that I have seen posted by others.

- So sue me... I'm a software developer that thinks in point form.

HAHA! I'm sorry N'Raas but I've been thinking the same thing about your bullets.

I figured you must do a lot of powerpoint presentations or documents that require bullets. My only comment would be you break up your thoughts a little too often between bullets, like using bullets for commas.

- But I do agree that shorter sentences are easier to read

- And people are more likely to run through bullets than read a long paragraph.

- And now you have me doing it.

- **edit** you!
