Looks fine to me. I just hope we get an interesting answer instead of the usual babble.

For about a month now, I've been slowly dropping Ranger and then scout skills. At first I really missed the additional information in the creature examine window, and now without any scout I really miss terrain negotiation. It's been since release that I've not had ANY scout skills and it's a really odd experience, even just getting around the terrain in the player cities sometimes. I'm still on this forum because in my heart I want to be a ranger, but I needed to go experience some other things while Rangers didn't have anything interesting coming in the near future. For reference I became master Ranger on October 2nd, last year, after casual play starting on launch day.

With that I want to say I really like where the thread has gone since Sunday, and I'm also sorry I missed the weekend of this thread. Today while I was offline I read the first page of this thread and had a long post written out in notepad regarding what question I wanted to ask. I had intended to post this question for discussion:

"What were the intentions of the developers when they added camoflauge kits to the Ranger's skill tree?"

This would be in order to draw the attention to the dev's that we thought Camoflauge should be more than a resource using MaskScent, and hopefully make them realize that it needed far far more scope to be viable as an elite skill. Then I got home and read the other 2 pages, and realized my question had been answered: "To differentiate ranger from scout." So at this point I believe the current question that, which harkens back to a day before patches, is the right question to ask. I believe it puts the devs in a position where they are answering a question that was asked over 8 months ago. The irony in the effectiveness of the question repeated so many months later is staggering. Back then Ranger's weren't in demand for organics on the scale they are currently, the GCW wasn't in effect or nearly as noticable as it is now, and our profession was in better shape and more wanted then than it is now.

With that I believe this should be our current question as posted in nice yellow by Calc:
"What are the plans, if any, to differentiate the Ranger profession from the Scout profession and will this happen in the form of a Revamp or can it be done via minipublishes/hotfixes?"

Now to play the other side. What do we think the Dev's will answer this with? Does anyone think this will be "answered" or does everyone that's been with the profession a while, like myself believe they will respond with a question? I for one think a response similar to this is in order. "What plans does the community think should happen in order to differentiate Scout and Ranger?" The real pessimist in me says they will answer the question with, "There are no plans forthcoming."

In August of 2003, Holocron posted in the Ranger forum regarding the lack of uniqness to the Ranger profession. The poststated 'The focus of this post will be on how we are making Ranger different from scout. Ideologically, the ranger is still a "super scout."' This post then went on to list many ways to improve the Ranger profession. Since then we have had only two things implemented (/areatrack and /camo) from that list, and both of those were unintentionally nerfed. /areatrack is nullified by player cities, spawn rates and vehicles; /camo was broken in a patch so that it doesn't work on most NPCs and in general is worse (costs resources and breaks far too easily) than /maskscent, a Scout skill. What are the plans, if any, to differentiate the Ranger profession from the Scout profession and will this happen in the form of a Revamp or can it be done via minipublishes/hotfixes?

I have mutilated the above text into as short and hopefully concise question as I could. I really hate to ask when, even if we phrase it relative to the SE (before or after). The problem is, we would like to know when, so we are at a catch-22 here... Does this even get the point across? I am not sure we can address this issue with 1 question, it would have to be more of a discussion session, rather than a single question. What do you guys think?
