It should be noted to the newcomers that Itend toreply to the post, rather thanthe thread.

That's a fine policy to have, But, the original post said that the person had ungrouped the pet before hunting.... It wasn't someone complaining about not getting full harvest when ungrouping the pet after the kill before the harvest.

Someone else in the thread also said they have had experience where after not being grouped with players still getting the reduced harvest for some time after ward.... (not just ungrouping to harvest just after a kill)

**** So it would seem that (since the patch) some people (not consistant across the servers) are seeing the game count players and pets that were in the group at one point in time, to still be in the group when calculating harvest later on on kills that the "ex groupmate" was not in the group for.

By the way... though the CL has been fixed on /examining a BE pet... the specials and damage are still broken. It's a shame they couldn't look into those at the same time as doing the CL fix. Though the only thing we really heard back was "We know the CL is broken on /examine". So I suppose we should not have expected more.

"That makes it a lot harder to fix, obviously. For now I still recommend recalling pets after grouping them for mission selection."

Indeed... I tried it myself tonight, and couldn't get it break down.

I will add it to the bug list, but it sounds like it could be a sticky one to fix.

Probably its some server line issue (those server line get blamed for everything. ).

"some people are reporting a reduction in harvest when NOT grouped with their pets since the patch."

Let's be clear here:

The harvesting reduction occurs when agrouped player attacks and kills a creature.

  • If the player ungroups after killing the creature, the harvest reduction is still in effect for that kill.

From my experience, this has always been the case.

After ungrouping, any kills performed should produce full harvest...

  • I presume this is not the case here, and it has been noted. Obviouslyplayersshould/bug the issue as well.

I don't tend to group with my pet because of the harvest reduction, but I will see if I can reproduce the problem myself.

Or lag! Lag is evil too!

Thanks NRaas.

By the way, I finally got a chance to hunt on Flurry and couldn't get this problem to surface for me either. Hunted with pets and people in group, disbanded, hunted some more and harvests all seemed to behave "normally".

Not sure exactly what this thread is about as it seems that there are about 3 different conversations going on. Here is my take on all of them.

1. Pets taking 40% of harvest. I dont know about exact numbers, but I do notice that whenI am grouped/not grouped with my GSP or whatever, I do take in less resources than when I hunt solo no creatures at all. Could just be coincidence and this doesnt concern me too much.

2. The Creature is my weapon argument shouldnt count against me. Why shouldnt it??? If I am using my GSP and he attacks the animal, in my opinion that would damage the harvest. You cant train an animal to preserve the resources. Whereas a rifleman can place a shot specifically not to damage the resource you most want. I think the pet should cause less resources to be harvested. The way that the devs are calculating this may be wrong, but I believe the outcome is right.

3. Getting tougher missions. Grouping with people should not all getting better missions. I think the big problem with this thread is this topic. Why cant we just pick the difficulty level of our missions. If I want to go hunt CL 5 gnorts, for $100 , why shouldnt I be able to do that. On the same token, if I want to go on a suicide mission and go hunt CL 100 Ancient Rancors for $50000 , I should be able to do that too. Fix the problem, Mission termianls are too limiting.

Enough Said. thanks for listening.

Well the point of this thread was (from the first post)that some folks have seen a change/bug in that non grouped pets are taking the bite of harvest. Whatever everyones views are on if this is right or wrong... it evidently was an unannounced and inconsistent change.... thus this thread.A change only effecting some of the people some of the time is most likely a bug. Someone later in the thread posted they have had this problem with non grouped players as well.

All the other stuff is just the normal hash flying you get when anyone mentions CH.

ok, again, focus...

Try the following (not sure if this is it):

  • Group with a bud. He /quits and you see (LD). You cannot remove him at that point (yet another bug?) So you disband. Go hunting and tell me if you get full harvest or not.

  • Pull out pet and group. Then store, from pet radialor datapad or by pet command (need to try all 3). You should get the party disband message. Now go hunt, yada, yada.

See if any of these trip this condition. it has happened to me on a really big group hunt and all have left for bed and I continued solo. Sadly I could not determin what caused it.
