I have to disagree with this. I am a ranger, not a scout. A ranger is no more a scout than a doctor is a medic, a pistoleer is a marksman or a TKA is a brawler. Camo is a non-issue since for the most part it isn't even usable (go make a camo kit for Lok). As such, my only stealth skill as a ranger is maskscent. It's not supposed to be, but it is. For all I know, maskscent works fine for scouts. It just doesn't work for rangers. , Therefore it is a ranger concern more than it is a scout concern.

And please, recognize that the way that maskscent was working after the "big update" was a BUG. It was working too well - it was never designed to work as well as it did. That being said, I feel that the way that it worked should be the way that /conceal should be working.

As above, I disagree with your take 100%. It is my only reliable stealth skill therefore it is a ranger concern. I ceased being a scout when I was trained in novice ranger. Moreover, when the patch was made changing how maskscent worked, we were told that it should rarely fail. That's how it was intended. If you are saying they now classify it as a bug, then they have lied to us at one stage or the other.

I think the general consensis is that this is very much a ranger issue, since something seemes borked in the cross over from scout to ranger in the calculations.

on a side note concerning the issue... Rangers should get a minor +1 mask scent per wayfairing level also. Nothing big, but a buffer adition to gain the total of +105 or something.

Guys,

Okay, okay, okay.

I get the point.

But you still aren't understanding what I am saying - we are getting confused here because of the timeline. I have already indicated to the Devs that this is currently the biggest issue affecting Scouts right now, and I will inform them that Rangers believe they are having issues as well.

But you need to understand -not everyone...meaning not every Scout and not every Ranger...is having the same problems with Maskscent. This is why I'm having such a hard time trying to figure out exactly what to tell the Devs.

I'm trying guys, I really am.

SB,

But I'm a Master Ranger, and I'm not experiencing the same problems you guys are experiencing. That's another part of my problem.

It's hard to determine what exactly is the problem when I'm not able to replicate it myself in game.

As a Master Ranger I do have to complain becuase it's getting a bit lonley out there.

You would think that i could run straight into a Rancor nest and poke them in the buts with out being attacked (granted i did not open fire or what not) It's just sad that My camo kits bringmore pain then stealth, especially on planets like Dathomire.

I would love to see Rangers Be able to hide (weather it's masked scent or camo kits or nothing) from aggro creatures of all sort especially as a Master. I run through planets just the same as my friends and half the time i get attacked when they do not, seems kinda silly if you ask me.

Yay, my two cents that amount to nothing

The problem with /maskscent is that a creature checks to see if it can see you as soon as you enter it's range. It should check if it can see you at the same time that it sees a non-scout.

Best example I can give is a Krayt dragon.

If you try to use /maskscent on a Krayt it WILL see you at 64m and it WILL aggro, every time, but if you are careful, you can walk up to a krayt without /maskscent on and pet it. (I have screenshots )

It shouldn't be MORE effective to turn it off... but it is.

and for info purposes, I've been playing since release and I'm a Master Ranger.

Go to, say, Endor. Run around a lot. You will get aggro'd by mobs that are out of your radar fairly frequently. Yellows too. If you don't, I will accuse you of being a voodoo priest.
