Isnt the first bit of that how we all feel about ranger. And isnt the rest of the thread more reminiscint of the Jedi forums. The simple fact out there in the game, is that 95% of people who pick up ranger feel like this guy. Then they drop the profession. This guy is right he is a Cl54 trapped in a CL80 body (or is it the other way around). The cost of ranger outweighs the benefits, we all know this. However, some of us are quite adept at survivng as our hamstrung rangers. This does not however mean that everything is fine and everyone can go out and solo whatever all the time. Perhaps you should all put your differences aside and look to where the real problem lies. I.e. form an, alliance, if you will, of disparate individuals against teh tryannical organisation intent on destroying ranger. That organisation is the Empire, no wait, SOE.
No - the issue is that this forum is quickly becoming a forum of "we can't." The voices that get celebrated here are not those of the exemplary few who show us how to overcome our limitations, but those who repeat the same tired, incessant dirge of "can't." There's no need to posit some " tryannical organisation" intent on destroying our profession, we're doing a good job of that ourselves.

You are missing the point, the majority of people dont peruse the forums and out there in the game, those that take up ranger to be great hunters run into this problem and then drop ranger because of it.
It doesnt matter how many hunting guides you put on the forum, they wont get read. Only giving ranger parity, skill-wise, with other professions will fix this. Or at least mitigate it.
Point blank this is how I see it.
If a Master Rifleman took on a mob that was his cl... he would probably pull it off.
If a Master BH did the same... he would pull it off.
If a Master Ranger did the same... He would get home quickest, not because of terr neg but because it only takes a few seconds to load into a cloning bay.
We are the MOST expensive in skill points. The LEAST effective in combat.
Are we worthless? Heck no.
