I think you're too worried about "server resource" or "load" though. Its been a loooong time since I've seen any server higher than medium, and normally thats one or two on weekends that get up to medium and everything else is light...
You have to be outside of a town, so there is no worry about a Ranger setting up a field base in front of the Coronet Starport, so its not like they are causing any sort of lag...
I just don't see any problem with AFK macroing as long as it doesn't detract from someone elses game experience...

the server boundries are not neccesarily the same as the city boundries. You can affect how the server that is handling coronet is performing, even when you're outside of coronet.
Each planet has several different boundries. On a given day, many of these areas may be deserted, giving the galaxy as a whole a "light" rating. But as we all know, certain areas DO get crowded and it does affect spawn rates/lag. On Dath, when the village was first put on Live, the amount of people in the Village, caused lag all across the planet and decreased the spawn rate of wild animals all over the place.
AFK people may not crash a server, but they certainly do affect spawn rates and they do take up server resources. Regardless of how much or how little this affects other players, the fact is that they are bad for the game.

If you think of survival as our crafting tree rather than our "camp" tree you see that we really aren't that bad off. Go tell the chefs that if they were scout/rangers alls they'ed have to do is sit in a kitchen to gain exp. Or god forbid the Doctor/medic crafting tree, ugh.

10 hours? lol hehe
You use more than one tool...
if you do it right 1800 is about about 5 hours. But you don't make them you practice them. So thats ? 136 xp? close to that I don't think I've ever practiced one. 1324 items that would be. About 3 hours 40 min. Close to that.
Ping time can show server loads. The server has to answer you
That takes cpu cycles. The day Pub. 13 went live I was geting a ping of 200 in cnet, 170 in Mos Eisly, and my normal 70 - 90 in Mos Takei.
Games like this don't send propper Ping packets to determine the ping time. They use the time stamps on the packets going back and forth between the client and the server. These time stamps are used to help correct for lag. When the lag correction stuff gets borked we all get the fun 'rubberbanding' that publish 12 brought us.

I saw an afk macroer camping one day, calling out for visitors. Very annoying. So I dragged an aggro into his camp - say bye bye to that camp's xp as he had to fight (afk) and as it was Lok, it took a while for him to slay said aggro, thereby causing the camp to go cold. Cold camp = no xp.
I felt so bad, when he saw me later and asked for training, I replied he could go find the macro AFK trainer, have a nice day. He figured it out.
Now that AFK people can't attack, it will be even more fun to watch the macroers get eaten.
Feel free to macro at your own risk.

Before you do this, you should realize that AFK macroing is NOT against the user agreement, and training animals on others is.
