It just wont reinstall phen,
There is no test file on my computer heeh, i deleted it. Ive ran numerous full scans with nothing.
All it says after it scans is cant download the update, missing critical files please reinstall. Then after that there is no install option, just uninstal.
Anyways dont matter, ive uninstalled swg now, updating as we speak
That "Missing critical files" is exactly what you get if you delete TC folder by hand. What I did is find out where the game expects TC folder (it recreates an empty one for you). Then just copy all the stuff from your regular game folder to TC. Then rerun Test Center version and let it update. It will work fine that way. I just went through this myself.
I have a Scouttoon on TC (close to mastering Scout) specializing in carbines also. Would very much love for event to be on TC. Then I'll attend. But will not go into creatinganother character on Wanderhome.![]()

Owen-Lars wrote:Would anyone else be interested in loggin some time on tc and forming a ranger guild? I mean us guys from the forums could spend a couple of hours each week on there that way we can level each other up fast and get ready for the possible incoming changes that would effect us. Also there would be the added benefit of ranger hunts that we could do each week or month. Also to think about would be after our hunts we would have lots of organics to sell around and help the other crafters test there stuff too. Just a thought, im personally bored with the game atm, i log in each day to just say hi to my guild and talk for an hour. I would love the challenge of meeting lots of like minded rangers, help test new things out for us and have fun leveling up ranger again.
Wow! I've been thinking the very same thing about Wanderhome. I've been trying to build up enough money on Tash to buy and maintain a GH. I thought we could call it < RANGERS > or something similar. This guild would have a few points to remember:
1. If you are already in a guild you DO NOT have to join this one. This guild would mostly consist of inactive characters, since the WH characters are almost all secondary chars. THerefor if you are in an active guild it would be much better/more fun.
2. If you ever decide you love Wanderhome so much you want to move there permanently there is no penalty and will be no anger for leaving the guild. The main purpose of the guild is to give us greater visability as Rangers while hunting in a GRM group and will be mostly inactive people. Active guilds are always more fun than inactive guilds and so migrating to an active guild is totally understandable.
3. You do not have to contribute anything to the upkeep of the guildhall or contribute any of your harvests if you don't want to (I can handle maintenance for one GH no problem).
It would be easy enough to do this on TC instead of WH (and potential for more un-guilded chars
I'd try to get one of the powers-that-be to put the GH someplace really cool for us - like hidden away on Yavin or something, but I don't know any of them, and frankly find them and their super powers scary.

Well, give me a couple days, I should have at least a shiny new ranger on Wanderhome given a week. Be knida funny if all the rangers from around the galaxies decided to make Wanderhome their home.

wanderhome it is then... better dust off me bothan.
( Course, there is a 'short' way to install TC without the 2gb download, but its not the right way to do it and if something goes wrong, well, you're paddlefree in Cack Creek )

looks like we have some interest in getting together. I dont realy want to locate onanother main server, i think it would benefit us all plus the game as a whole if we all went to tc. You arnt limited to one character and obviously your tc character will be your back up character.
Just created my guy now, but hasnt earned his first xp yet so complete newb. Names the same as my main, Thortac Balcor

I have played on testcenter, but just during mounts with some random guy i made. I feel noobish asking this (and I know Im one of the few who doesn't have a well developed character on TC), but can I copy my character from my server to TC? like in Dark Age of Caemlot you can do that. I've never been on a GRM and I really wanna go but I'm not sure if I can.

(I reckon I should hav e made this at least three different posts...)
Like OwenLars said, you can't transfer your live character to TC, but, as the big leezard said... we're going to Wanderhome. And don't worry, apart from the 'locals' we are all newish there.
There DOES seem to be interest in building a rangerly community over on TC though, so I'd like to toss in a couple of coins worth of comment. Yeah, like you can stop me?
Getting your TC character set up:
Slow way is to run the Test Centre installation process from the LaunchPad. If you are on dial up, this is going to take as long as reinstalling the entire SWG set up plus patches. For me, thats about.... oh am not even going to calculate it, trust me, we're talking calendar instead of a watch to time it tho.
Quicker and RISKIER way is to start the TC installation from the LaunchPad. This will start by creating a directory and subdirectories for your game to be installed into. It does not overwrite your existing SWG and should create a completely fresh directory outside the SWG folder.
Stop the installation when it starts trying to download patches etc. Cancel to desktop and delete the files in the NEW SWG Test Centre directory. just the files not the folders. Takes a few minutes.
Now, using the directory view on your pc, COPY your SWG directory onto the SWG Test Centre directory. This will STILL take a long time, anything from 40 minutes to 2 hours. You are cloning your files in exactly the same way that the install does.
Once that has finished, make sure everything has stopped running, drives have stopped whirring and take a few minutes to steady your nerves.
Now run the TC installation from the shortcut. It SHOULD now search for updates and get the most recent ones for TC. You've already got the earlier updates as they are the Publishes to date.
WARNING: Only do this if you are confident in your PC wrangling abilities. Check you have enough free space BEFORE starting and, most importantly, you're doing it at your own risk. I am fairly sure it doens't breach the EULA and am also fairly sure I've seen this method detailed by a red name in (I think) In Testing. If you kill your SWG or kill your puter, am sorry, truly I am , but you're on your own.
If you DO manage to get your TC character going, drop me an ingame /tell and I'll add you to my TC Rangers list. Likewise if you're on there already.

no you cant copy your character over unfortunatly. The guys who started to make characters on TC got too attached to theirs and dont want others getting a great characters without having to work for it.
