Thread: A Little Feedback
plan C: let the Bothan win.

That's plan B.
i'm usually the last person to dev-bash... and... well, in this thread, i may very well be the last person to get around to it...
those "answers" are really ridiculous... you guys call it corporate speak, but i think it's more like "busy secretary" speak... i don't think any dev actually saw them, i think some secretary read the memo before it got to them, and figured they'd just "save some time"...
i've read some other professions' questions... and at least a few of them got some thought out responses... what did we get?
"your concerns are important to us. we completely agree with everything you have to say."
seriously, i am loving the CU... i've had a complete blast with everything... but, i have no skillpoints in ranger... i haven'tfor some time... if the CU wasn't the time to make ranger viable, then they at least need to tell us something, ANYTHING, that will boost our spirits...
i think at this point, we'd be happy with lies... change it up on us by the time the revamp comes, you do it all the time, to every other profession... you've even done it to us before... but you know, we don't care... it's understandable when plans change... all we need now, is something to make us go "oooh... neat"... not, "aww... look, they didn't even read the questions... well, at least they put us in the CU... kind of... in a way... after we reminded them... and then bumped the thread... and then restarted it... and bumped it... and had every other profession back us..."

thanks for letting me come to the ranger meets, despite my lack of any useful scouting abilities... it's been what feels like forever since i was a ranger, but i still feel like a part of this rangerhood...at least you guys treat me like a ranger when i'm here... thanks for that...

Seriously, these guys must've gottenadegree in Corporate-speak.
"I'm afraid we can't comment about that, but I assure you, our people are working hard on telling you how fun the game is. Unfortunately, we can't give you a reasonable timeframe as to when the game actually WILL be fun for your profession as we spent all on corporate-speak lessons rather than programmers."
"Dont you worry about *blank*, let me worry about *blank*.
or
"*blank?*, *blank?!*, you're not looking at the big picture!
While i am excited that they are looking to do a ranger revamp, i really hope that it will involve the community of rangers.
and i know that Owen, Calc and all the other forum masters will push for it as much as they can.

Thats from Futurama, the guy from the 80's with "Boneitis", very very Classic. Muhuwahahaha!!!
Actually, all this just reminded me of a figure of speech I used to use. Owen, feel free to borrow it...
"You've just said a lot of stuff without actually telling me anything."

It's a classic civil servant type answer. Clear, concise, to the point and totally free of any actual information.
CU aside, I am actually hugely angry at SOE and their lack of confidence in communicating to the player base. Y'know, if, when the CU was dragged screaming and kicking into the world weeks before it ought to have been, had some red name been allowed to stick their head above the parapet and say "Look, for business reasons, we're having to move the CU forward. We're not happy with this decision ourselves and we're going to have to change our plans significantly in this, this and this area"
Instead they treat their entire customer base like 13yo's who they hope, if they ignore us long enough, will stop complaining. And oddly enough the complaining would have stopped way sooner if they'd only been open, honest and human.
ah well. Suits, eh? they're all the same. And geeks? Sheesh, don't start me. omg.. we've wandered into the DilbertZone

That's okay, the Dilbert saga holds many sad truths about life. Do you think Smedly and Co. have been taking lessons from Dogbert?
Actually, that would explain a few things.
