Not a lover of dogs, although my girlfriends parents have a golden lab called sam who is just the greatest thing ever. The only dog id get if i was going to make that commitment would most likely be a huskey.

There's huskey racing in the forest just up the road from me tomorrow. If I get organised early enough I'll be taking the sprogs up to see the doggies...

Though seeing as it's 2am already I may be suggesting they stay home and tidy their rooms/wash the car/keep quiet while I drowse in my chair...

Big dog fan here. I've got a Bearded Collie. Love the thing to death. Sweetest dog I've ever had. Not too bright though.
Last 4th of July I'm out grilling and drinking with my buddies by the pool, my dog loves people so I bring him outside. We toss the frisbee, yadda yadda yadda. So anyway, the fireworks start and my dog FLIPS. He gets up and runs full speed-- but TOWARDS where the fireworks are coming from. Now my dog is FAST. He runs straight for about 50 feet and then -- BAM!!! headlong into our fence. A little dazed, he backs away from the fence and whimpers. Seeing as how it doesn't attack him again, he starts barking like mad and then ATTACKS THE FENCE. That is until more fireworks go off and he spazzes out again, spins in a circle and then runs headlong into the fence again.
Of course, he's still smarter than BH's.

ROFL.

Had a collie / setter cross a while back, he was smart as get out. Could get him to turn the lights on and off, he'd jump up and flick the switch with his nose. Usual stuff, collecting papers, slippers, eggs... no problem.

Taught him to retrieve when I was out shooting. Really patient, clever dog. Would pick up new tricks in a few minutes.

Current dog, another collie cross. Hmm. How can I put it. He's well behaved and good with kids, but must be the dimmest dog I've ever met. Still smarter than most BH tho.
