Thread: Single v. Social Changes post-patch
Just a heads up on (scout) mobs in case you didnt know.. They can cause a normally non-social group of creatures to all come and fight. Generally it is best to not shoot a (scout) untill its buddies are all dead. They often will just run right back to the back and bring friends.
I have been killing quite a few things lately, and nothing that was non-social before patch has changed as far as I can tell. Now the Miss hit thing agroing may be possible but I do not miss my targets more than 0.5% of the time unless I am at extreme range. I cant really comment for sure on that one but it would make sense that a laser bolt going off and hitting something when you missed your target could agro something else...
Female kaadus continue non social, but male kaadus are social now. The male kaadus will attack you if othe kaadu (male or female or baby) is attacked. One solution is attack the male first. One problem is if there's more than one male (if you attack one male, the others will attack you too).
And fambaas are social now....
That list would be amazingly useful to have right now. I'm afraid to try much better than dumis any more. *grin*
So, the Human Pancake has officially proven (to me at least) once and for all that the TorTons are now herd aggressive (like they weren't hard enough to kill before). Out doing walkabout on Rori, I came across a herd of them, and decided to try it (after all, what's the fun in not trying stuff, right?). One shot (not fan shot mind you) later, I was running for my life as the Shallow Torton I was shooting at, and four of it's closest friends decided to tell me that they didn't actually want to give up their hides. Squish! I was hovering on the Mask Scent hotkey, let me tell you.
Gualamas have gotten more complicated, which will confirm some of what I've been reading here. It used to be that you should take out the Dappled, then the regular, then the Bachelor. If there were any Mavericks, then they would be the first in the list, but they were kind of weird gualamas anyway. This time, there was a Dappled scout, and lo and behold: I shot him, so he told the rest of the herd and they all suddenly were explaining the finer points of multiple attacks to me.
Nudfuh groups have also gotten weirder. Nudfuhs are apparently now social, although the Pudgy ones aren't. I was plinking on a Pudgy, when suddenly big bro was standing next to me, tasting to see if my head would make a good desert. This happened three times, so I'm kind of sure it was the critter, and not my marvelous lack of accuracy with my pistol.
At least Dumis aren't herd aggressive - yet.

That is the impression I get from comments made by the Powers That Be.
- They did indeed make some more of the existing creatures assistive, and this might be the effect we are seeing.
surprise surprise. someone please tell me WHY the player base is putting up with this continual and incessant nerfage. I have been a hardcore fan of this game, but there is only so much you can take. I am thoroughly convinced that by some sick logic they are trying to take any and all fun out of this game. whoever made the joke about the /fun command wasn't really kidding...
Shallow Tortons, did not go social on me. Nudfah's did not go social on me (regular or pudgy) and gualamas behaved as per usual, with the dappleds being social, but not the others.
Someone said before...if you've got a normally non-social bunch of critters and there is a (scout) in the group, hold off on killing the scout. Attacking the scout will get everyone on you.
