If not what other options would you suggest? Sheesh, you covered things very well...all I would add is the afore mentioned CDM. I would also beef up the harvesting even more...

Done, CDM is on the list to be added in place of ranged/melee mit. Its actuallya much better alternative because it deals with both ranged and melee in one skill. Nice.

After someone gets back on the fishing, area track and concealpossible changes, if they like them ill add them depending on people's reactions.

Yeah i was thinking putting the certs somewhere so you had to be at a certain level to use them in a combat orientated tree. When i was thinking about it i has mixed feelings and got confused as to where you would actually get the certs so just so i could show some details on them, i included them on theranger tree. I wouldnt want all combat professions being able to use our weapon, perhaps when you get the ranger skill box AND the novice or above box in the combat tree it gives you the cert although i dont know if this is possible.

I love the idea about getting a novice elite in a combat profession to get the weapon cert or your choice and not both. I love it infact. If there is more support for this i will be only too glad to unclude this aswel.

perhaps the combat tree required could be rangerd support? Is there a melee support tree? I would think you would need either one or the other, then the cert you get in the hunting tree could be specific to which one you took... unless you did both melee support and ranged support

Ouch, that'll mean I'll have to drop Novice Medic

Currently I am Master Ranger/ Master PikeGirl/ Novice Medic (I think, a Ranger should be able to tend her own wounds.... I mean, a wilderness expert whom can't apply first aid to herself... That's not a real Ranger )

The fishnet's sound great the way u have them the Fish Habbitat long tirm harvesters. Dont want to turn ranger in to a who can find the best % to place there uber harvesters down. But more of a cage based that could be droped in to the water and every 10-15 mins u pull them in and u get a set amount of fish.

This could be set up with artisan they can make a few dif types of cages. For novice ranger get small cages that can hold something like 100 fish box 2 can use med cages could hold150fish, box4 large cages 200 fish and a huge cage at master that can hold 300 fish. Also need to have a set amount of bait in each cage to bring the fish in to it, for everycage type10,15,20,30 amount of bait.

My thoughts on a working gcw/rank and fun factor in this game.......

Ya i was just trying to open up an avenue for professional fishermen/fisherwomen

They would be able to spend their lots placing these habitats and get that little extra over a manual person if they were both manually harvesting the same amout.

Example:

Two master rangers go out fishing for a day, one a professional fisher, the other just wanting to take advantage of the current shift.

Both harvest 1000 fish with the fishnet, a nice catch for the day. Now the professional fisherman has invest all his lots into fishing farms and spends alot of time doing this, he should get something extra because of this. Giving him the ability to place small output harvesters so after his day of fishing he can get that little advantage over part time fishers is a great way to reward him for his efforts as i see it.

Im open to suggestions though, but would be nice if a player could choose to be a professional fisherman if he wishes

Love the ideas about the cages too mate.

Maybe even long tirm we can get them to push more water based hunting for us. Such as lobsters, clams maybe even for the deep areas shark's of some type. Cages and nets would be a nice way to bring more of a sea life in to the game so that the ranger can do a little more. But this would be a long tirm thing for rangers/fisherman hehe

There are a few questions I’d like to ask though:

  1. What do you think the requirements should be for this novice ranger?

  2. Do you think we should get melee/ranged mitigation or toughness?

  3. What are your thoughts on the weapons?

  4. Do you think that ranger damage is a viable option?

  5. If not what other options would you suggest?

  1. I think our requirments should stay as is.

  2. Covered well by other posters

  3. I like the weapons! nice thoughts. As I have said before, I think the Ranger weapons should be a stanalone option (no requirment for melee or Ranged) but would be enhanced by those trees. I.E. any melee profession would be able to use the knife much better than a non melee and the same for Ranged with the bow.

  4. Not really

  5. hmmm gonna think on that
