I have been a Ranger for a dang long time now, my old buds, and now my new ones, ask why am I a ranger, or what can a master Ranger do?
well even though the answer to those questions isnt a really good one I always tell them I do it because I want to...
I am not a rich ranger by any means and I should be quite wealthy since Ive played since a couple of days after launch.
Ive been a master ranger since 2003 and have never dropped it.
why...? I really like being me...

Once in a while, I'll take a contract to hunt for some spending cash, but mostly I have a network of friends that I hunt for, and in exchange I just ask for what I need. Bring back 30k of the nice bristly for my friend the chef, I get a crate of brandy some arrisa and any other food I need. Same goes for most of the other profs out there. My friends need something, I hunt it for them in mass. I get buffs, food, clothes etc in exchange. I am the anti-capitalist.

Selling buffs for 17k is rediculous, selling armour for 300k is rediculous, selling food buffs for 500k is rediculous.....
Crafters make the big bucks, we are the producers, if they can afford it, why not take advantage of it! Thats like saying a crafter should love his profession for crafting, and not for the money!!
We do something that no other profession can do! thats harvest creature resources.....Crafters do something that no one else can do...craft stuff. I to enjoy exploring and watching animals in there environment, if i can make a pretty penny at the same time, why not!!!
Besides i think you will only see 250cpu for tatooine avian meat, where the only source are nunas, and i better be paid well to hunt 24/7 for little birds that dont give out alot of meat.

It's all supply and demand and what market forces will bear. Just like real life. But, what is 250cpu on one server may be 25cpu on another. It depends on the value of the dollar (credit). Look at it this way...17k too much for buff? Well, is that 17k in dollars or 17k in pennies? Maybe your only paying $170.00 for a buff. And maybe you are also only getting 3 cents per unit of resource you collect, hmmmm?
