Well, I do agree with 90% of what you say, but wanted to make a small point here. The uselessness of ranger is not really *that* evident from the skill tree. From the skill tree we see that we get the ability to track animals and people. Cool! But what we don't know is that it doesn't work very well and with the spawn problems you're better off using a speeder. From the skill tree we see that there is a new method of hiding ourselves and that it can be applied to others. What we don't know is that it doesn't even work as well as our mask scent ability until you get several boxes into it, and even then it is just not that much better. From the skill tree we see that we get new traps (but only 2). What we can't see is that they are not very useful. And from the skill tree we see that we get big harvesting skill mod increases. What we don't know is that it translates into only an additional 30%. And then there is the flat out lie in the skill tree that in frontiering there is somehow this marvellous ability to get "rare items". Ugh! Yes, I did figure out how useless ranger was after a couple of weeks, but did I know it from glancing at the skill tree? no.
