It's working now Vadis. Fred, while I of course respect your opinion as a fellow Ranger, I don't understand how you can be so forgiving to the devs. You must have infinite amounts of patience.

I'm a software programmer for a living. This project is as complicated as spacecraft software... more so actually.

When they stated that they would do the CB and the Jedi quest and the JTL in rapid succession I was worried that they would be rushing things a bit too fast and not give good time for testing. Testing is a VERY important part of thedevelopement cycle, as we well know from last year . I feel a bit better about it now, but I fear that they will bow to pressure of all the shouting on the forums and "fast track" code that might look simple on the surface, but has really nasty gremlins in it. Seen it many, many, many times before.

Hoy...I remember with great wonder my early days on TC. I loved testing over there. Still do, when I get the time and they release a new patch that effects everyone. (I will be testing CB the day they release it). It always amazed me the quality of the players on TC (except when mounts and vehicles came out). They were ...Ranger-like. That's the only way to describe them. Everyone looked out for everyone and there was a higher purpose to every action.

I respect TC'ers and anyone who works hard to test and push the limits of the system. It's a great way to ensure that all the little bugs (as well as huge gremlins) get out of the works. I know people who spent literally HOURS trying to get vehicles into weird places when they came out...just to make sure they could /bug any issues. When cities came out....EVERYONE was a politician for a few days, since we needed to test every possible feature, including transfers and votes and all that. It was great. (I still have 1k Politician XP I'll never use on my main TC toon).

The only drawback to TC is the few people that actually go there to test and debug the code. Too often, like when Jedi revamp was in Live, people zoom over there to get a free Jedi. The catch-22 is that we NEED lots of people on TC to test the limits of the server and the high-volume traffic that might occur on a regular server...however, oftentimes LESS work gets done since the real testers can't /bug stuff when they're getting 200 tells asking for vehicles/mounts or whatever the flavor of the month is, and the tourists don't know or don't care to debug the software.

So respect your TC friends and when you go over there, do a little testing along with your touring. All the regulars are great people.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.
