When I think if rangers I think of aragon from lord of the rings. Someone that has distinct combat advantages in the wilderness. Give rangers big numbers when combating in the wilderness. Don't actually make them a combat profession but make them useful when combinedwith other combat classes, like giving the combat profession really high bonuses because they have ranger as part of their template.

Tracking is another area that needs work. 500 meters is not enough distance. Make it 1000 meters or 5000 meters but the tracking won't always work. Tracking should feel like your actually tracking something. It can take days to track a certain animal or person. It just doesn't feel like your actually tracking in this game.

I was a master ranger since launch, and I just dropped it.

Now it seems they want to hear form us?

About 800 of my 1000 posts were awesome suggestions for Ranger.

Point being, a lot of good ideas are now OLD but unimplemented ideas.

You guys really need not to forget those OLD ideas, because they were good.

Nraas' list always seemed to be poignant and up to date, I hope you guys get what you deserve.

Good luck.

Flynn_Nomad you have indeed been away for too long.

You missed out on all the fun between Jan 4 and Jan 18, when the forum was bustling to pounding out the proposal.

And many of the ideas in the Outdoorsman are not really new... Theyare simply fleshed outversions or ideasthat have been floating around quite a while (the modular camp system originated back in August ).

I'd just like to remind anyone who hasn't posted their views of the profession,in a combat role, to please do so in the In Concept thread.

After working for 4 months to get Master Ranger I dropped it within a matter of days!!

Why? Too many skill points for too little of a competitive difference. Sure I can harvest a little more and areatrack, but Camo doesnt have much of a better use than maskscent, and Camping, which I worked so hard on, is practically USELESS now!

Mastering both Scout and Ranger doesn't really let you do much of anything else. It's too much of a skill point investment for relatively little in return!

I'll keep the areatracking skill tree, but everything else is going, because it's all not worth the skillpoints invested.
