Like the Antarian Rangers...who, to be honest I had never heard about until this game...now I know that they have a whole Star Wars history....kinda kewl.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

I saw the list of the FS skills and the trees. I cant remember where it is but here is what I know/remember.

As your main character goes through the quests to get the second character slot, you gain certain Force Sensitive skills. There were I think 4 "profesions". At each one the novice and master box was free, but didn't give you anything either. Each skill tree was a different type of force skill mods. The "professions" were as best I can recall, Healing, defence, power, enhancement. The enhancment one had trees with things like bonuses to harvest, bonuses to mask scent, bonuses to vehicle control(maybe JTL related) etc. The power one had things like melee/ranged combat bonuses, to accuracy and defence. As well as a Luck tree that was supposed to raise the % chance to get better/more loot from npc. Like the items as well as the money on them.

How the system is supposed to work is this. As you progress through the FS quests, you will gain points, new ones only used for FS stuff. I think 24 in total. You choose what 24 skill boxes you want out of those those 4 "professions". This will cost you NO normal Character Skill Points. Once you finish the quests, you get the new character slot. You now have a FS main character, in our cases ranger, with the additional skills/mods.

What I want to know is this. For master ranger, are the bonus to mask scent and harvest and scout stuff even going to change anything? Or is it more for non rangers? If they wont really do anything for some at the level of master ranger, then I wont bother. Also, can we switch these around after the fact?

I also plan for sure to get the Power one with all the combat bonuses. Maybe the healing one too.

how does everyone else feel about this "everyone can have a little FS" idea? I've been hearing a lot about it lately, and I'm beginning to think it won't be a good idea in the long run. Basically what I'm understanding is that provided you do a few quests, every character in the game can have force abilities to one degree or another. Does this make sense with the continuity of the movies and books? I don't really think so. There are already too many jedi around considering the timeline we are supposed to be in (remember how there were really only 2 jedi and 2 sith?), and it seems like making every player force sensitive, while perhaps giving the majority what they want, makes the game seriously traitorous to the vision of the star wars universe as set forth by lucas, the movies, and the books.

Perhaps traitorous is a bit too strong a word for it, but I'm sure you guys see what I'm getting at.

I recall in one of the movies (maybe 2 of them) where Yoda explained that the Force is in everyone and everything. So IMHO, the new system will fall within the Star Wars reality.

I have to agree there are far to many Jedi running around, but if that is SWG's purpose, then who am I to argue. That means if everyone goes to Jedi...that will leave Ranger and Jedi as the only two professions which also means less of a wait for fixes and content for the Ranger profession....heheehe

Cool thanks for the clicky.

Has anyone else been looking through it? In the Force Power line of Padawan there are two skills interesting.

/animalattack and /animalcalm.

/animal attacks makes your look at target attack your combat target, only works on animals.

/animalcalm makes a target that is in combat stop attacking and go back into normal peaceful mode. only works on animals.

So it seems they have the two abilities programmed into the game that ranger has brought up before. Some people said that it might be hard to do code wise etc. Well its done. Just give us /animalcalm in say Tracking 2, and maybe max out the skill mod needed at half what jedi get. Then give us /animalattack at ranger master with again half the skill mod points the jedi gets topped out at.

What do you think?

Hm actually I'm thinking both ranger and CH get the /animalcalm and just only CH get the /animalattack. Makes much more sence.

I don't really care about animalattack, but I could see those 2 skills at a diminished skill mod being a good thing to have.

I'd much rather they fix camo and camps and stuff like that first though

I wish they had not allowed us to be jedi. This is what Middle-Earth Online is doing; noone is allowed to play an Istari (the 5 wizards i.e. Gandalf) and ...

=====================================

I agree. If memory does not fails,SWG happens between the destroy of the First Death Star and the Episode V. How many Jedis/ Siths lived in that age? Uhm... let's see... one Light Master, one Padawan, one FS, oneSith Masterand one Sith Knight. Well, I accept 2 or 3 more FS maybe... Ouuchhh I Iforgot this is not a Role Play game, is it?
