I got an idea....post it in trade...no one is sabotaging! And I sell my LOW OQ stuff (which would probably =1000 total stats) for 10 cpu or lower on the bazaar and my vendors all the time!!
10cpu for that rubbish? Someone would have to be mental to pay that.
If that's the sort of prices you charge, I'm not surprised people make their own hunters rather than pay Rangers for the job. If I used av Q 333 meat to make BSNs for chefs (for instance) they'd come out at about +70. You see any chefs buying anything below +82, you let me know
Meat prices have got totally stupid since some moronic doctors startted paying 250cpu for really high quality meats. The bad news is that BEs and Chefs can't afford to pay those prices and still sell anything.
Doctors can make and sell buffpacks, or even use their own packs and make more money on the buffs. Average Doc is paying 3.6K/buff for their +2506 pack and selling the buff at 10-15K for LOTS of clear profit.
I do a run of BSNs and chefs will pay me about 30K for Crate25, 1.2K each. Each one uses 20 meat. If I pay more than 45 for the meat, I'm runing at a loss (It also has 60 harvested resources). Even paying 40cpu only leaves me about 200 creds profit per BSN. For 40cpu I need 900/900/900 meat (makes a BSN +87) and I can't get it because the doctors will give you 80+cpu for it.
I've almost completely stopped producing Chef Tissues because of the stupid meat prices. The next time you're all complaining about the price of Chef Foods, just remember who's driving thecosts up by charginghigh prices for bad meat.
Any chefs reading this and wondering why they're having trouble finding BE tissues - now you know why...

As far as creature resources go, it's really hard to get fair prices. This is largely due to a lack of resources available. Rangers are a very small percentage of the population (there are less Rangers than Jedi from what we can tell--you might want to try posting this request on their forum now that many of them are able to harvest [and easily able to out kill us]). In order to survive in the current economies, we need to make enough money to pay for the inflated goods. Some Rangers do this by harvesting and selling resources. If they don't want to spend all their time doing this then they are going to need to charge the inflated cpu. This also means that most Rangers will harvest the most valuable resource and not necessarily what you want. Is it fair? No. But, unless someone wants to be a pure harvester, Rangers (and most other professions) need to make a decent amount of money in a short period of time. I rarely harvest for money but I don't really care about credits (I have enough to get anything I want/need). Other people are not so lucky.

With today's patch, most Jedi will have lots of skill points left over. So I would not be at all surprised to see Lightsaber Masters with scouting skills running around. Or other powerful combinations like that. And they can take as many scout skills as they want after spending their force skill points (any skills they want are for free after the change so they can grab Master Ranger as soon as they log in). I'm guessing a lot will pick up at least a bit of scout (terrain negotiation is really nice to have when you hunt on Dath that much).

I have a couple of points to make.
Lightsabers are not terribly powerful. At best, a Master LS User is only margianlly better than a Master Elite combat prof. Also, any non-Jedi skill that a Jedi takes means fewer Jedi skills they can have. I really don't think that there are going to be uner Jedi harvesters running around. Time will tell, but don't get too down just yet

While Calc bought his armor for 18k,
a similar set of armor on lowca runs for 100-250k
its not uncommon for grind to be sold at 10cpu, and elite meat for 60-100 cpu.

yeah Marginally better: talked to a Jedi Gaurdian last night: we talked (I'm selling his alt a +6 Heavy Weapons accuracy armor attachment for 1 mil). I ended up hunting a bit w/ him. You know what I saw? Him hitting for 10k damage a pop. I don't even think he was using specials (i told him I needed XP) True, he had an nice Lightsaber (spent 20mil on the crystals/pearls) but that's not a marginal difference over my damage.

I hope you are right on this but those lightsabers can't be resisted (sometimes causing problems because then the AP 2 is useless). I haven't seen the most recent damage numbers on top quality sabers but I'm hoping that you are right on this. As for skill points, I expect there to be lots of Jedi harvesters around. The force skills are not that easy to get (you have to kill a lot to get the xp) so players will have a while before they run out of skill points. I can't be sure exactly how it will work out (so much has changed in the system, like saber and force power use no longer giving players a TEF) but remember how many Jedi wanted harvesting skills a few months back? Of the Jedi, I would expect 90% of them to have the skill points left for at least novice scout (probably more like 99%). Will they take it? I don't know. They are likely to drop it as they get more skills but that will take a lot of time. I hope you are right, though.

Last night was pre patch. A lot is changing with the system today. One of the changes is the damage output. I'm not sure what it is currently at but I would guess that damage has dropped quite a bit from what Jedi Guardians used to have. We'll see, though.

aahhhh yes...but read the Jedi update carefully:
it says that it will appear as though they're doing less damage...not that they are. THey'll do the same damage, it's just going to be changed a bit before the Combat Balance...hold on, I'll go get a clickly...

Here's the quote:
"The lightsaber values of lightsabers have been put in line with the damage outputs of our combat balance values. We have also lowered the maximum potential of crystals and pearls to be more in line with the new scales of the combat system. The numbers may appear to be a bit low to what current Jedi see on their lightsabers now, but don't worry! We will apply behind the scenes values so the new lightsabers will deal the same amount of damage as pre-patch values until we push the combat balance live."
So until the combat balance, Jedi's are still uber over us...

I forgot about that Phenix...thanks for pointing that out. Keep your eyes peeled for bragging on the boards, and other evidence of Jedi becomming uber harvesters. If it becomes a real issue, I will raise heck with the Devs...I appreciate your help guys.
