"The max I have been able to use is 9."

- Do you mean the max you have ever needed to use is 9 to max out an experiment line?

- That happens in other crafting professions as well, where the crafting item only has one experimentation line to work with.

- Once they add multiple lines (such as one for charges, and another for effectiveness), you will wish you had far more points than 10.

"The base stats will determine the maximumnumber ofcharges you get regardless of how well your experimentation goes."

- Well that's basically correct. Experimentation is a factor of the original base value. So if the base value is greater than if you max out the experimentation, your final value will be greater as well.

- That is why you can't experiment on a 0% base value. As 0 *any number is still 0.

- So using good resoures is a requirement if you want the best items available.

Yes. Sorry, should have worded it better. So far I have maxed out the experimentation before maxing out the experiment points.

If we are going to be getting additional lines, then it will make it more interesting as to how you will spend your experiment points. Hmmmmm... quantity vs. quality? What to do?

Even though this is all basic stuff, having a chance to use it with a Ranger skill and actually seeing results makes me feel like a newbie. I actually have to think a bit more now!

- My medic friend has the same dilemma, as several of the medical components separate Charges and Effectiveness into different lines.

- In actuality, in the top stims, he generally goes for Charges as the default base heal value is something like 600, so he really doesn't need to experiment that up any further.

- But it does make for a more robust system.
