Heheheheh. Actually, you have my sympathies on that. '-p

Well seriously, that's what maskscent could be for. Keep in mind that being a Ranger is a dirty job -- literally. You're spending time hunting animals and picking apart their insides. You're rummaging in the dirt for supplies, and you're sweating like Tokarian pigs to pitch up that Field Base. AND, you're smearing paint all over your face, not to mention wading through stink bomb smoke.

You're going to get dirty, and honestly, "the perfect look" should be easily sacrificial to sneaking past the most diabolicle and deadly NPCs.

To me, the notion of putting together something you're obviously supposed to physically wear -- and nothing happens to you when you apply it -- is silly in the game's context, and it yanks many of us away from the suspension of disbelief.

And to iterate, this choice should be easy for a dirty, no-nonsense, kickarse Ranger to make: DoI keep my shnazzy Pad Armor and Mabari Boots look? Or do I spoil it with a camo duster so these Nightsisters don't tear me limb from limb?

I think it's a fine compromise. Just don't wear the camo duster unless you think you'll really, REALLY need it.

Here's my question: how will the devs see this thread? I tought they rarely check the professions thread...

"how will the devs see this thread? I tought they rarely check the professions thread... "

- Actually the developers read the professions forums on a regular basis, they just are not allowed to post

- Holocron is (or will be) enacting new regulations regarding the forwarding of interesting threads.

- Namely, if Xahn forwards a thread to a developer for review, he is supposed to post that he has done so.

- This way, we get some feedback that something is actually happening.

----

- But yes, the developer does read this forum (when he's not on vacation that is ), but he does have several professions to take care of (Scout, Smuggler, etc.)...

- I have added your thread to my listof interesting threads, to keep it from being lost in the back pages.

Great Idea!
There is a solution that will keep the tailors happy because they have to craft a Ranger specific item, we're happy because we get better information on what we craft and the groups are happy because then they actually know that theyre camo.

I think this idea fits with the intentions of the devs for class interdependancy and class uniqueness.

Second point...Nrass I really like your "hands on" approach to the community. Your comments are constructive and often generate new and better ideas.

The Ranger community is the best...thats why I enjoy the Ranger class more than any other ive tried
