To those who may be wondering:
I have recently been absent from SWG due to (A) the Xistmas holidays; (B) some difficulty upgrading Windows98 to WindowsXP; and (C) moving to a new place across town. This is why I haven't been around, updating resources for the Tempest Resource Co-op, etc.
Sadly, my absence from SWG has been extended indefinitely. In the process of moving, there was an accident involving my computer, a fast-moving dog, and a hard linoleum surface. The result of this accident is that my computer is b0rken in a major way.
At the very least, my hard drive had a head crash, which means those 30 gigs ofgames, porn, and illegally copied musicVERY IMPORTANT, MISSION CRITICAL DATA are toast, and the drive itself is a paperweight.
At worst, it's something that will prevent me from booting the computer even with the addition of a new hard drive.
If it's something that can be fixed with the addition of a new hard drive, you may see me sooner rather than later. If it's something more serious, I'm pretty much screwed until I get a new computer. I WAS going to get an Alienware system for Xistmas, but thanks to the finanical scrambling we've had to do to get moved, it will be at least 2 months before I get it.
Either way, I'll keep you posted.
Have you guys thought....just by chance of buying an inexpensive CD Writer? All those files would go an a CD I am sure and you would be able to restore the info. Volstead. If you wish, you can send the system to me and I can take a look at the damage and run some diagnostics. I wouldnt charge you ungodly sums of money and get you back up quicker. I own my own company doing that kind of work. Give me a shout. Chances are you drive may be hurting but not necessarily so. The worst case is you jarred some connections loose and cracked or bent your case. Thats only cosmetic. Try checking all your cable connections, your memory simms for looseness, and that your processor fan is still in place. All hope is not lost.

You are correct, it's in the rules. Someone must ask for the stuff.

BTW Volsted, I like your fishing guide
I've actually become a fairly committed fisherman after scoffing at it for the longest time, but your guide was very useful. I gotta admit though that I cuss up a storm after spending 5 min catching a fish that yield 1 unit of meat though. grrrrr

Sorry to hear this Volsted.
I'm assuming it was worse than just a HD since I haven't seen you posting at all and this post is old.
I hope you get that rig fixed soon.

Hurry back, you pirate. I'll be sad if one of my two SWG rolemodels disappeared.
