I made Master Ranger Monday morning. Before that I had only done the Wayfaring and Tracking trees. I was still undecided wether to go Ranger or BH. Ichose Ranger. It is unbelievablehow many tells I get know when I run through a town, or near a small hunting party to help out with either Scout training or just to use my tracking skills. I used to have notag under my namebecauseI was so undecided. Now that I wear aMaster Ranger people always stop andsay "Wow, cool, a Master Ranger", I know with the holo thing going on right now there will be more of us, but those that choose to go that route will drop it faster than anyone will notice anyway. I have run across only fewMaster's in my galaxy, but they were more than helpful when I asked.

My guild always knows when I am on I will helped when asked, but they know I like the solitude and hunting alone, and will usually give up extra supplies at a small cost. I like the communityhere, our player representative is great, and our reputation as rangers is better than most on our perspective galaxies.

If you have a question about our weapons, well we could a little bit of help. Myself, other than being Master Ranger, I have Master Marksmen, BH up to thepistol Eye Shot andcarbine for Underhand Shot (and the LLC), Novice Pistoleer, and Novice Rifleman. I gave up CH because of thelevelnerf (I missmy GSP). I am still trying out the weapons trees but so far it all works well for me.

The one thing I will say about being a Ranger, and I am sure the other Rangers will agree (hopefully), is that because we have no overpowering weaponry, we have to use our brains to hunt. Think about what you have to kill, use the terrain to your advantage. I do die sometimes, but I can tell you as a Ranger I had to think alot about soloing an Ancient Graul for the first time, but I can do it. Using the terain to your advantage you can almostsoloanything except a Krayt.

Plus you put up a High Tech Field Base, you will have more friends than you can handle. I had a group try to hunt me because they thought it was a faction base.

Hope this helps you out. But whatever you choose some part of the Ranger skill tree will be helpful to you.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, RL gets in the way. I on duty right now, (Section Leader), so I have some time to review the boards.

I am very glad that the post helped you with sorting things out. With the vehicles out, the free holo's, being a Master of any profession is going to be hard.

I have a vehicle, but I still run to most places because I miss alot of scenery. I would use a mount, but I had a novice medic spend his time healing me, when there were 3 Master Doctors standing there, too busy talking to the dancers to help me out, so I gave it to him.

I would jump on the Holo Train, but I am less than a casual player being in the military overseas. By the time I would master enough professions to even open my slot, not sure who would even be around to remember that I was a Ranger. So for the time being, I will stay a Ranger, try out a few weapons professions, and enjoy it.

So any of you Rangers onTempest that need to be retrained after running the Jedi grind, let me know. I will still probably be a Master Ranger.

If I put a character on Kettlemoor, I will look you up, because I will proabaly still want to be a Ranger.

You are very welcome Diobe. Safe journey's

Yes, I'll have to agree with several of my esteemed collegues here and say that I play a Ranger primarily for the community and role-play aspect. I personally find more uses for my skills, as the PA I am in rp's as an Imperial Law Enforcment Agency, and therefore many of my skills are in constant demand and thus, things don't get boring for me. Ultimately, playing a ranger is a state of mind, and there is a certain mystic about the class that few others have.
