i did a lot of concealshotting as i moved up the trees, as it allowed me to hunt well above my weight class. it is very slow, but i'm very patient, so it didn't bother me.
when conealment breaks, on a single pull, chuck a p.dart and get some distance (to avoid pulling his buddies on you), then fire as many headshots as your p.dart will allow and chuck another. you should have a faster rifle (e-11) for these kinds of tactics, a t-21 is just to slow to kite with.
once you are master rifleman, then tactics get real simple. /examine, choose appropriate rifle, /prone,/headshot3. i don't bother with /mindshot bleeds in case i don't kill my target before the bleed ticks and the creature comes a-charging.
you may want to check the rifleman forums for information on speedand damage and armor piercing (oh, my!)as well. note thatthey may check your rifle's statsat the door, at which point they wil inform you that their's is bigger and faster, but it always will be, so i stopped worrying about it...
happy hunting!

Prone. I spend 90% of my hunts on my belly. heh.
Headshot 3, and conceal shot are my most used rifle specials.
When argoed, warning shot from the ranged support.
Not a whole lot to it. If you can kill the critter in 3 headshots or less, use /headshot. If not, use conceal shot and watch for bleeds. If the mob bleeds, be ready on the warning shot key cause hes about to come over and stomp you. Its possible to jink him around like a Yo Yo with warning shot, kinda funny.
Ive found vash brandy neccessary, and traps totally unnecessary.

Well, my tactics changed completely after I mastered rifles. Now mindshot2 (mind bleed)followed by headshot3's (or is that the other way around?) is pretty much all I use.
Before that, rifles were so slow to fire I found myself using lots of tactics. I would always go prone, plucking away with /concealshot at 64m. When something aggroed on me, my speed was too slow to kill it before it got to me (like now, with master rifle speed) so I'd use supression fire and warning shot. If I was in a pinch I'd throw a wire mesh trap to +root+ them, heal up, move out to 64m again and start shooting.
Unlike Pistoleer (my only real experience being watching my wife's toon), rifleman tactics are aimed more at the sniping style of play. /conceal shot works great and rarely aggroes, but is probably the slowest rifle shot, and then the first line of rifleman which gives "rifle concealment" helps you use all your other shots with a chance of not being aggroed. At 64m and prone, it goes great with mask scent or camo, and just seems "rangerly".
After mastering rifles, I dropped the range support line which had some nice tactic specials like suppression fire and warning shot. But my headshot3, strafeshot3 and just general brute firepower and speed make up for the tactics. Not very ranger like, but I gotta survive somehow. I rarely aggro stuff with regular specials, so I don't use /concealshot much except for tough NPCs.
You mentioned being 3214.. You should spend your next SP for the 0020 box so you can get the DXR-6 acid rifle certification.

Also use /maskscent or camo before you shoot. It decreases the chance that you'll be noticed, and combined with /prone or /kneel pretty much means that you can do a lot of damage (esp. with mindshot) before the creature even knows you're there.

Maybe im to forward in my tactics but when im harvesting for speed i prefer to run in buffed (mind with 2 ahrisa and 2 brandy) and just spam straffshot 2 if its a close group of headhits. most of the time i dont wear armor because you can start from 64 and by then you should be able to drop any creature mob. i did all my rifle grinding in a non solo group so i cant talk much about tactics while grinding but a speedcapped rifleman is a force to be reckoned with.

I would agree with other posters on using conceal shot. While leveling I used conceal shot from the kneeling position. It did not seem to matter regarding detection if I was prone or kneeling. Keep a pdart trap handy and if you have to kite, switch from your t21 to a fast rifle. Conceal shot can take down big stuff, just takes patience. I also always have a brandy in me and a muon ready to go in case my mind gets down to critical levels. I never use armor because I rarely am buffed and can't stand the encumberances.

I've never used brandy (although I have some), but wouldn't blue milk work better when the mind gets down to a critical level?

Armored with Buffs - Tenloss Rifle and Advanced Strafe2. There is just no need for tactics as a rifleman with armor and buffs. Entire Rancors mounds will tremble and if you have a good rifle 400+ damage around 4.5 spd or so they may not even get close enough to hit you. This method is the most boring but is useful when you "need" to get bulk resources for friends, guildies, or customers quickly.
Without buffs I would wear only an Ubese Shirt and maybe boots. Depending on the target I would either use conceal shot or Mask Scent and HeadShot3 using a dart if necessary. Good food to keep on hand for a rifleman is Brand and Ahrisa. Other usefull foods for a pinch is Vercupti, WonWon, and Qwi Swirls. Muon is probably in every riflemans staple for emergencies. If you know a good weaponsmith get some HAM focused Rifles so that even with minimal food buffs you can spam specials if need be.

Heh, a ranger fight with buffs? NO way.
I try not to get accustomed to that when hunting. I do wear a bit of ubese now, with my health and action stats so low from migrating.
Thanks for the advise and help guys. I'm up to 3.2.3.4 now and it's going well.

Being relatively new to the ranger and rifleman profs... I was able to solo 6 mt. squills in one sitting without getting attacked once using /maskscent and /concealshot. It took forever but it was a great feeling. Oh I was also eating sand on my belly lol.

Yeah I love conceal shot. I remember on my last day of trial I shot an ancient bull rancor on my own. I was soooooo happy. There I was barely 2 weeks playing and killing a lvl 98 monster (i thought it's 98)

Maybe you guys can answer a question for me.
When I was a Master Ranger/Rifleman before and I would shoot from cover while camoed I would get 2 shots max before the mob would come after me.
Now I am getting 5 and 6 shots before they notice me. Case in point. While running along on Dathomir with my new T21 I decide to take a pop shot at a rancor. I was buffed and had armor so I figured even when it aggroes me I will be able to drop it. He had a low Mind. About 10k. I didnt use cover or anything. Just maskscent and kneeling. I fired a total 6 shots at him and hit everytime doing between 1500 and 2500 damage with each hit. He never even acted like he saw me.
Here is the question. Have they changed the way rifleman works?

Don't really know. Haven't been playing that long. I've always been able do shoot about 6 times when prone and 60m away from my target (that is without taking cover/conceal shot).
