Thread: I never ever ever ever EVER thought of hiding my ranger tag... Then RoTW came to us.

Was doing the quest yesterday, went to Lok to track down some snorballs. First thing, I turned off "make my character searchable". That helped a lot. I won't turn of my tag, never ever.

But the best way to get rid of helltellers: "100k per started hour. Oh, and you have to find me first of course".

Kari -

I did the Kash space station missions, they are only grind missions for rebs.

I think I need to go to the rebel space station. Machts Nichts, I hear tell I have to blow up another corvette, and I keep leaving my Bumble wing at home.

Personally, I like AT'ing for the Hero quest. I pretty much have the pirates location narrowed down, have found them five times before and charge 1mil a pop

I've gotten tells on Kashyyyk asking for different things and I tell them 500k for the find. They usually tell me they'll ask again later...

...like they expect me to change my mind or something, BAHAHAHAH

The guys on Lok who ahve to pay you to find Snorbals are morons. Snorbals are within 500m of the starport, and that isnt exclusive Ranger knowledge, thats 'I can hit tab' knowledge. If someone wants you to track for em, tell me 250k or not at all, dont negotiate at all. Have the /addignore button ready. If they say yes, you just made the easiest 250k ever, because I can give the Cagno guarantee any intelligent person, especially a Ranger, can find that Snorbal within 3 minutes.

Alternativley (sp) put on /anon when on lok.

I've always appreciated Lok forvariousreasons. Unlike Dathomir, there are no insanely clipped logs and craggy ass trees getting in my way. There are reasonable hills where I can negotiate the slopes generally easily (be it by foot or speeder). Unlike Corellia, it's Reasonably populated unlike Lagonet*cough*Coronet. Unlike yavin, there are no invisible rocks that stop me in my tracks when trying to get somewhere. Also, Lok seems to be a backwater planet where most people never think once of visiting (unless to get the Nym Themepark badge). Which leads me to other thoughts:

The xp is quite decent for the kills and many of them don't DB when incapping occurs. Of course, this ignores the random visit by a kimo. So, no lag, no craggy trees, no hidden rocks, decent xp... Enter RoTW. Now everyone and their damned denmother wants that robotic arm. This means they must, at one point, come to Lok for their 20 snorbals. If you're l33t, they're the funk33 dunk33 elephant pansies. Well, instead of actually 'hunting' or 'exploring (damned ifthey do anything like that), around thirty times a night, I'm bombardedwith tells asking me to track for them.

Now, don't get me wrong about this. I was happy to drop everything I was doing to track for them the first fifty times (allow me to remenisc about the initial days of knight trials and the damned peko peko albatross), but this is getting tired quickly. I feel like a preCU doc being askedat random times to buff someone in BFE. Now, Ieither give them an area tosearch or I hide my tag. I just can't wait until this cyberarm thing goes out of fashion so I can wear the master ranger title without tellhell. Has anyone else encounter this?

hi man - you don't have to take down your title, just use /anon to make it so that people can't search for you with the /who function. I did that long ago -- first there were the RIS components, then the moisture farmer, then the jedi stuff, then the phase 3 stuff, now the snorbals. Trust me, /anon will get you through....

Well, I don't have any SP invested in ranger (though seriously considering it when I unlock my alt), but I did almost all of my grind hunting by just walking around Lok, Tatooine and Naboo. I always found that natural spawns gave me better xp than terminal spawns, so the loss of cash was no big deal.

Becauseof this, I've gotten a sense of these planets and the arm quest was no big deal to me at all.I've helped a couple people get their snorbals, my advice is "GottoLok and walk west, you will find them."

Props to all the Rangers.

Great idea. I will turn /anon on tonight once I login. I never did it because I'm not a pvp'er. So the thought never crossed my mind.

The key to losing constant helltellers is simple: Overcharge, charge stupid amounts for the tracks and dont negiotate, if they dont like it tough luck, if they dont mind u make very easy money.

Charge them 50k flat fee.

You got bioengineers who are making a ton of cash and selling 1k heal stim d's at a 100pct profit.

Armorsmiths with Faction armors are making a killing.

It's bout time there are actually some decent stuff to track, Charge em.....and don't feel guilty doing it

Lol, exactly the same tells I have been getting.

"Are you busy..." no, I am sitting around waiting to serve you - of course I am busy, I am logged in, I am not a crafter, I am hunting something somewhere. And generally finding what I am looking for too, which is why I am a Ranger.

"I need to find..." go look. Amazing what you find when you look. And get the hell out of the starport, you won't find them there either.

"Can you..." Yes, I can. Will I... depends, how much money you willing to thrust upon me? Ok, you now owe me a large one each favor. In the coming months I will be taking on Mellichae, maybe. You owe me. No whining when you die either.

Hey, works for me. And the arm can wait. Anyone know where to get the heavy X wing?

JB

"I'm looking for something..." Hey, cool, glad yo contacted me, I've got a whole pile of something here.

"I need a graul marauder..." Guy, you NEED a doctor.

"I'm looking for a mixture farmer..." Ok. You I'm going to help. You can't even type the name of the target right?

"!!11!!1!11!11H3LL!!C4N!!1!!I!!!! FIND!!1!1!" /addignored before the next pile gets away from his kb.

"You charge HOW much? All you have to do is walk about and find me some GDK and then send me a tell.... how is THAT worth half a million credits??///>??>.>/?" Watch me cry while yo take your whining business elsewhere. It's worth NOT earning half a mil to know I just p'd you off.

"What in... why can't I find groll marauders? I'm at the marauders camp.... " You got off the special shuttle, didn't you?

"Wheres my mark? I can't find him" What's his name? "I'm not telling you, you might steal my mission"...and people wonder why I don't miss tracking, rofflies!

This may sound petty of me, but do like I do...starting charging 50k to track there. I get the same tells all the time, and I don't mind helping. But if I'm doing something with the guildies, and I start getting those tells, then they're taking my time away from my homies to go help them, so then it costs.

That's what I do... actually when the whole thing started, I charged 100k per snorbal. Some people didn't like that much. Sure 100k is a lot.. but I found people willing to pay. They do, after all, inturrupt me as I'm playing.. want me to drop everything and help you, Ol'Rhonerneed's alittle incentive If you want your silly arm.. you either pay me, or kill yourself on dathomir and hope you get your arm rather than a new set of legs.
