So wait..

Not knowing much about TKM, it's possible that I've misunderstood how their ability works..

Essentially, they have an ability which has the potential to shorten the duration of the poison/disease effects, correct?

That's perfectly acceptable. If they had the ability to just instantly cure it, hells yes I think it should be nerfed. That's a doctor-only ability, in my book.

I don't mind taking a few wounds due to a miscalculation with a little critter (like a diseased vrelt) or a confrontation with something nastier (mantigrue), but I've wished many times that I could make it go away sooner. When a quarter of my health bar is black because I got bit by a diseased vrelt, something be wrong.

Let me rephrase your proposed idea, to be sure I understand it.

1. The Ranger is poisoned/diseased, so he drops a camp.

2. The Ranger uses.. a radial menu option from the camp? Apply herbs, or somesuch.

3. The Ranger then performs, as part of this option, a special sort of forage to try to find herbs.

4. If successful, the Ranger applies the herbs. Thereafter, every X seconds (X being dependent on the state effect and the Ranger's level.. disease would probably have a longer time between checks than poison because it lasts so much longer) a check is made. If successful, the Ranger's poison/disease is reduced, or eventually goes away.

If this is your proposal, then consider me a convert. If not.. please clarify?
