Triple+ bonuses to harvests for rangers (possibly even the addition that scouts can't harvest meat)

No nerfs please .

Nerfs, believe it or not, isa good way to balance things.

For example, the rifle situation. I suspect they will be nerfed soon. The other alternative is raising other combats up to meet it, thus making all enemies entirely too easy, or raise enemy HAM's- making pistols, carbines, and melee's very obsolete.

Which do you feel is more likely?

Everyone whines about scouts and dabbler rangers, nerfing, in conjunction with enhancing, would push the ranger even further from being Scout II

Right. It's truly sad that a master ranger NEEDS a strong combat class to make him/herself useful. As a master ranger, I should be able to use the skillsI get from THAT to be a good creature hunter, not from the fact that I am a Master Fencer or a Commando or whatever.

Not calling for a nerf, but I think the devs have clearly shown that this game does not base off the book, otherwise I would be hunting jedi down as TKM, along with BH, right? And Riflemen wouldnt be shooting at autofire while running with the gun in one hand over their shoulder.

So this isnt the books, and we are not the anatarian rangers or whatever they are called. we are just... Rangers. The point is, they WONT GIVE US force powers, thats why people grind 25 professions to open FS.

They are much more likely to put improvements into traps or camps than give us force powers, so cant we concentrate on getting something reasonable done? I dont mean to bash anyones ideas, FS would be uber sure, but its just not going to happen, and requesting it will just bog down ideas that we might actually get through :-/ Thats all really, I didnt mean to bash

You never walk to the bargaining table asking for just 2 or 3 things you always shoot for the moon with all points and expect some things to be shot down. The Outdoorsman Proposal is great for a well thought out revamp but they will never go for it. But they can at least pick thru the finer points of it to grant us a few perks.

One thing I really think should be considered would be a Creature Handler bonus. As a Ranger we get tons of info to us when we examine. Why does this not translate to creature handling. Not a massive bonus mind you but something that would allow us a nice pet even when not using Novice Creature Handler.

Because they don't need to be nerfed down. They're not overpowered, we're underpowered. Basically, point:value, we don't measure up. The solution is not taking working, balanced professions like Scout and bringing them down to our level of value, but bringing us up to the level. It's like making a test so that the least knowledgeable person can pass it.. The value of the test is gone. Likewise, if we whine until they nerf every other profession down to our level, the value of game play is gone.

We are currently below the bar. We fail to meet the core concept that the Devs decided for our profession; Master Creature Hunters. We're not. Bounty Hunters are. Swordsman/Rifleman/Scouts are.

That's what's wrong with that idea.

CH bonus: That's in the Outdoorsman. +6 CL at MR, I believe.

It may not get through and while I have never said I will request this anytime soon, I see no harm at all in asking. The devs are not a bunch of chickens running around with their heads cut off. I am quite sure they can organize and file ideas away for future discussion and implementation. So that being said, what is the harm in trying? I have said it before and I will say it again....Better to have tried and failed than to have not tried at all. What I would suggest for an Antarian Ranger is something as simple as a strong resist to Restrain and possibly an onscreen message, similiar to the one you get when you are being stalked, that says something like "You feel a strong presence of the force in the nearby area", or "You sense a great disturbance in the force in the surrounding area." One for lightside and one for the darkside. Anyway, if no one wants to discuss the possibilites than that's fine. I believe the idea has merit and should be pursued, but I am more than willing to take that on myself and work on the details. Maybe the devs are not familiar with the Antarian Rangers and if they knew of their potential, they may be more apt to consider the idea.

If scouts were way overpowered as a whole then I would agree that a nerf would be appropriate. BUT, since scouts are not overpowered they are fine the way they are and Rangers should improved. No nerfs are needed to make Rangers better.

You want some items for us to unite behind? Several have been listed above:

1. Traps: more of them and make them usable on NPC's at higher levels and at master ranger make them usable on Player pets. (leave player traps to BH. We hunt and are knowledgable on animals they are knowledgable on hunting people)

2. Make camps better: At field base on up make them stay the whole duration no matter where you go or what you do (combat). Make camps experimentable so you can increase duration and/or med healing rate. Allow BF healing by entertainers in Ranger camps.

Let them put a Mission terminal in the camp. And Let it stay. So you can always fall back after doing some missions.
