(Just raggin' ya. I only found out about access to the faction rewards thru the HTFB the other week)

Say wha? I've not been a Ranger all that long, only a few months, but care to elaborate on this? I'm totally lost.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

I shall indeedly do.. (though there are other Rangers on the forum who are more au fait with this than I am)

If you are an OVERT faction member (not just tef'd covert) you can access faction rewards from the HTFB's data-pad/control panel.

You can access structures, ie, turrets, minefields and weapons. Prices seem to be the same as at a faction NPC but that needs confirming.

(Also need to confirm if it is only the HTFB or if a MR pitching any type of camp can access the faction menu.)

As far as I recall you can also requisition faction support but don't quote me on that till I go in and check later.

IN ADDITION: When you are OVERT and pitch a camp, it appears on the global map and can be found by going to the appropriate faction's tab at the right hand side of the map, then scrolling down to camps. You suddenly feel very exposed seeing "Rebel: Camps: ken' aths camp" listed. (Only same faction members can see the listing, Imperials see Imperals, Alliance see Alliance. However... if you or one of the party has an opposite faction alt...)

My current crates of Lok and Dath camo kits are 15 use, they are the highest I have made.

Of course, there ain't squat on Talus that I need to be camo'd from, but hey, it was fun to do.
Oh, named it Budweiser. Think about it.

Sounds right, I have gotten it to 17 uses, and that had room for better materials.

Wow! I', am so ignorant about the crafting arts. I didn't know Master Rangers could experiment. I have not sued camo kits much as mine seem to break far more easily than mask scent. I only use them now to /conceal party members. Duration seems about the same as mask scent, 10 minutes, maybe a little longer. I seem to always get 8 uses per kit, but again, I have not 'experimented' with them nor used high quality resources. I have not played around with the HTFB crafting stations much either.

Interesting to learn about the faction awards access through HTFB, that was news to me. Of course, I tend to avoid that whole brutal PvP thing too. So no OVERT for me... I prefer sneaking around the wilderness.

Any profession that has learned a craftable schematic can experiment, but you have to be using a public or private crafting station and using the same style of tool.

If you have low quality resources, using a private crafting station in a research center player city will greatly improve the # of charges on your kit. I've gotten up to 15 charges that way with very low to medium OQ resources.

Using high quality resources, I can craft it in my HTFB with as much as 18 charges. Crafting without a station can get you anywhere between 5-10 charges max.

Duration is never affected by quality or experimentation, but camo should last up to about 20 or 30 minutes before it fades off by itself.. if a creature doesn't sniff you out first.

like all crafting it just depends on the resource (i sell the good stuff ) so mine usually come out anywhere from 11 to 13 normally.

18 is the max, and i have to max out experimentation to get that. coupled with the better resources. then..... factory runs......

WOW i've managed to create a hot topic with my 3rd or 4th post ever /beamsmile.

I never knew you could do all these things with the HTFB kit. i must give it a try later on this evo. Thanks for the very useful info Almagil. 5 stars all round.

Getting back to the original topic though, i too havemanaged to get 18 out of a Dant camo kit with 83% experimentation using all my experminatation points (never failed experimentation either) i'm not sure about the quality of the tool whether that affects thenumber or not, and that was only using material in the mid 800's. Not knowing much about building stuff, i dunno if we can actually get any more out of it.

thanks for all the info and suggestions though peeps

Okay, so I am a bad Master Ranger. I just stopped making camps when I got the xp necessary, hehe. I thought the HTFB only gave you 1.0 to crafting...isn't that baseline?
