I never attack a mission spawn if its named. The only exception to that is if im in the middle of nowhere where i know the mission terminals are more then 3k away. Since it cant be part of a mission. But a lair belongs to the person attacking it until its completly gone. If its a static spawn and the groups there waiting for it to respawn its there. I dont think there really is any question. A lot of super-looters will just jump anything they know they can get their loot off. But I can see why you bring this up

If someone is there, I leave them alone, period.
If they want to hunt in that one spot until server reset, fine, I can always find another spot.
Not worth the aggrevation of a verbal show down or KSing or anything like that.
Just better to wave to them, walk on past.

Today i had an interesting experience.
I was on dantooine slaughtering bols and having a grand ol time. Some novice BH drives up and sees me. Hes a rebel, im a rebel... he salutes and ask if I needed help at all.
I was pleasently shocked. Usually they just shoot, and i cant harvest cause they outdamaged me. Anyway... i say, no i dont need help, but youre free to help out.
He and i hunted for a long time and had a good time.
a BH with manners, heh.... never saw that one coming

first off i totally agree with you all. but i want ot share a little story about this i found funny....So i was on naboo doing the avian run in i believe the gallo mountains (could be mistaken) so i find a natural spawn of pekos and giant pekos (yay me) so i start hacking on them (fencer). i wait for the respawn, they start poping some dumb imp (not that all are dumb just most ; ) he shoots at one of the giants and runs off on his speeder with the giant in tow . i sat ohh no i give chase and with my terrain negotiation catch up to the dumb bird and kill it before he gets another shot off at it. turns out he was trying to pull it to a stormie . he tried that once with me then realized i dont i dont give up on my spawns so left the area. i think i suprised him that i could get my bird back lol.

I dont take lairs if they are named and not my own
If someone is killingsomething i want i will stand around for abit and see if they need help, if not, i move on.
If someone is in a dungeon it makes no difference to me, i will go in and take on the dungeon myself. This is where instancing could be great.
If anyone has played COH (City Of Heros) im sure they will have loved the way indoor areas (missions)where all instanced. It would be great if the geo caves were instanced and the ns slave camp.
Obviously technical issues prevent this but it would be nice.

I am in general agreement.
I will not even attack an ongoingmission spawn upon request, should the requester be of the wrong faction. Yes, I will let them die or incap before firing. And when they whine, and they do, I saw take only what you can handle, and have a nice day Imp.
I will attack a mission spawn if it is obvious that no one is in the area. Missions do not spawn unless the owner is there, or was there, or was within about 100 meters, more or less. I use areatrack, wait, use /ar again. No body in 3 or 4 minutes, more depending on how far out I am from the nearest cloner (cntrl v gives me an idea), and the lair is probably fair game. Not like we get paid for it, the owner makes the credits.
The solo group is great, too bad too many are getting missions they can't do.
If i see a guildie struggling, I will heal them, trap for them, and only equip a weapon if asked. I am 90% of the time maskscented, so I don't draw aggros.

I agree with everyone here. Poachers, kill stealers, and the like are what make this an outrage.
Example.
A lone Master Ranger is traveling across Lok returning to the starport. 400m from the starport, he spies not 1, not 2, but 3 kimogilas, right outside the starport. Circling around them, he makes it to the sanctuary of the docking bay. Doing a quick search, he notices that there is nobody around.
Running back to the resting lizards, only 1 notices him. He gets it to follow him, running through other predators to distract the lizard, to his advantage. Using only his limited Master Ranger and Master Rifleman skills, the lizard is on its way down. Then like an earshot 2 speeders fly past him. 2 Master Commandos jump off of the vehicles. The lizard finally falls. The 2 unwelcome visitors jump back on thier bikes and head off in dust. Walking up to the fallen beast, he notices there is nothing leftof the fallen warrior.Patting him on the head, the Ranger heads out thinkinghe deserve better.
Almost to the starport again the ranger spies a couple of large dunes in the sand that were not there before. Getting closer to the dunes a couple of glimmers in the sand catch his eye. Kimogila scales. Pretty strange that a couple of scales would be found way out here. Looking up at the dunes of sand, the ranger bows his head and continues on.
** No names were used in the writing of this story to protect the innocent. Though based on actual events, it was written to inform the public that there is no place for poachers in an honorable society.**
*****Sorry it might not make alot of sense. I wrote real quick here to show an example.

After learning about the difference between wild and mission spawns I've avoided named lairs like the plague. I had enough borked missions when i was first sarting to know that it bites.
If a player is womping the life out of a spawn I'll stop and have a looksee. Never know, i might learn a new wrinkle. If I've got them I'll toss in a heal as needed.
I'll say Hi, Hullo, Having fun? Need a hand?? or whatever is appropriate. Partly to see if the player is a zombie or not, partly to see how they react. And, before stepping in, I'll ask if it's OK to do so. No response, then that's a no.
However... I recently had a player chasing / being chased by some big bad beasty all over the hill near my camp. I wandered on down to check he was okay, no response. Then again he was clearly busy. So I lobbed a few heals over, but he was still going down fast. Critter thumped him a good one, over he went. Critter then aggroed on me, so I had no option but to drop it. (OK, so I could have /burst but even I've got some pride)
Matey gets up... "you ****ing **** that was my ****ing mission..." Profuse apologies, offer to rerun the mission with him, refund, blah... "**** off". I think I did the ethical thing by letting him stroll down the hill smack dab into another gang of angry reds. Pity it was his third incap tho, eh?

Well here's how I roll:
-If i come across a mission spawn I don't touch it. only exception is when the person doing the mission asks for help, I think it's a little un-rangerliketo let someone get killed.
-Wild spawns(common stuff like ikopis or womp rats)I find are fair game. If someone else is already working it I look for another one unless it's something I need at the moment, then I'll ask to join in.
-If I find an albatross or something similar and someone else is alreadythere, I'd ask if I can get the next one that spawns. If not, I'll find my own.
-What I find is mine, but I'm known to share if asked politely.
Exactly. When helping somebody, I typically use traps or heal first (still have novice medic).
Some missions spawn aggro critters, and when you run by (accidentally) those may attack you. This is a very rare event. Sometimes I may not se or have time to check if the lair is mission. And in that case attacking critter gets hurt by me.
Recently though I noticed that if the aggro creature is from somebody's mission, I could walk around it all day without maskscent and not get aggroed. If devs implemented that intentionally, kudos to them.

I have done that a few times myself and even threw a camp up to heal the poor soul...I usually get a resounding thanks for the help (kept them from being DB'd)....the only time I dont assist is when the critter doesnt DB. Once they get up they can choose their path...continue the fight or move along....Either way they get some heals...
