Until the changes hit test, my preliminary thought is that I will be keeping master scout. My template will be master ranger/master carbineer/master scout. I think the master scout and master ranger will be the ultimate survivalist in the game and that's the kind of character I want to play.
Oh...I haven't looked into the skill points situation yet, but I think I can also do the carbineer line in BH.

I'm not sure. I'd like to keep master scout after the revamp, but I'm not sure if I will.. still a matter of skill points.
My ideal template would be:
Master Ranger
Master Scout
Master Rifleman
Novice Medic
... but I'll never get it, so I plan to play around with several configurations and see what I like best.

I'm thinking I'll keep Ranger and Carbines no matter what the pre-reqs end up as. If they require trapping I'll have to change this idea a little, but I'm not too attached to scout really.
My first pick for the healing and soloability of course:
Master Ranger
Master Carbineer
CM 4000
Then I thought about being able to shoot while under stealth:
Master Ranger
Master Carbineer
Rifleman 4400
Lots of ranged accuracy in there, so that'd really be a nice offensive template. You could swap the rifle and carbine skills if you prefer rifle, and then you pick up an area attack for your rifle. Not nearly as heavy hitting as Strafe but at least it's there.
Or if I ever want to use my pet's again:
Master Ranger
Master Carbineer
Creature Handler 0404
Very good soloability there when you have a droid and a level 36 pet available.
The last two I like a lot because it leaves 4 boxes for FS skills, which would probably all go into Ranged Speed.

I'm not entirely sure if I'm going to keep Master Scout or not. Part of it depends on whatever pre-reqs we end up having as I'd LIKE to stay Master Rifleman as that's what I enjoy playing - and I can't do that AND keep Master Scout. I suppose if we get a carbines pre-req, I might just keep exploration and hunting from scout, keep Master Rifles and see if I can pick up enough carbines to have at least some kind of snare / KD attacks from carbines that I can use with my rifles to replace the lost traps from Scout (assuming also that the Ranger traps stay gimped to humanoid only, grrrrrrrrrr). Otherwise I'd love to be Ranger / Rifles / Scout, or Ranger / Rifles / Some scout + some medic and/or FS stuff.

I will keep Master Scout, as well as Master Ranger. I will not be happy if I have to drop TKM, very unhappy as a matter of fact.
I to may be finishing my fs grind to Jedi by the time the revamp hits live, so I won't mind as much starting over. Walker will allways be melee, untill he gets his glow stick.

Ive always been a stock up before I leave type, so not being able to use the HTFB hasnt been a big loss for me (the good ol basic camp kit that Novice Scout gives, along with a droid with crafting modules does it for me if I do have to craft in the field)
I think for the traditional style Ranger, Master Scout will be a must to keep, so they can keep up on their harvesting efforts.
For the paramilitary types, its not as high importance, direct combat skills will me paramount to them.
I will be picking up Master Ranger again, but I have already had Master Scout once, and dont see a need for it in my own gameplay but I can certainly see how other playstyles will need it.

Just a thought that struck me today while writing in another post. We will have to experiment on our new traps. It will be important to the creation of our new traps. That will probably mean our current high tech field base kit will have a very important purpose to those that like to craft in the field. Another reason I'm keeping master scout.

For me, it'll depend on the combat mods in Ranger. If I like them I'll drop master Scout and pick up some Carb's.
If they are so-so, I'll likely drop Ranger and keep master Scout and take up CH for a hunter type char.

Well if Master Scouts do not get the Master Ranger bonus to harvesting, Then a good harvesting droid is the way to go. As a person with an armorsmtih Alt I have not been buying hides from Rangers lately just people with scout skills they have been easier to find and are more plentiful. They have had zero problem if getting the hides I asked for.
