And just WHY would you have to become stuck with Marksman if you kept Master Scout? Does becoming a Novice Scout now require Marksman?

No.

So stay a Doctor. Keep Master Scout. Drop Ranger entirely. Use the 63 SP in some combat professions, with your template it looks like you need it.

Seriously, it's like saying you want to be able to be a Master Doctor and Master Bounty Hunter. Ranger is simply not a Scout Elite any more. If you want to play a Ranger, just like if you want to play a Bounty Hunter, just like if you want to play a Smuggler, you have to make certain choices.

I made certain choices, I currently AM a Master Doc/Ranger. Most people want the ranged combat, are drooling over the proposed changes to Ranger and what this might mean to being a BH and Jedi hunting. But the fact is no where in the new Ranger profile does if mention anything about ranged combat. It's all stealth and traps. Stealth and traps. If that's not base on scout I don't know what is.

Looking over these boards I see I'm not the only one worried about their template getting screwed over and it seems to me that the majority of people hereare trying to convince the devs (if they read these boards) that everyone wants marksman. The simple fact is that isn't true and Ranger should be made viable for everyone that is already one and I'm sorry if that means that all you ranged folk won't be able to free up some SP.

Yes there are advantages to Ranger going ranged IF you are already a ranged profession. What about Melee or anything other than ranged? While it gives a ranged profession more points to play with, it takes them away from any other template that we are currently playing.

After reading the profile on what is planned for Ranger I don't see anywhere where ranged weapons would come into play specificly for Ranger. Sure Ranger will come in handy for certain profesions but in and of itself it's strictly a stealth and trapping profession. So shouldn't it be based on scout?

Heck I know a BE that's very excited about the coming changes, no Marksman in her template but the ranger changes will really help her while out DNA sampling. Wouldn't it be good to consider what will happen to those who don't want to be ranged?
