Thread: New Doc Schems

I know why it was done Calc. I stated that. The point is they gave one single profession MORE to make something in the game more "even and balanced". I'm betting they were to afraid to change CM, because it would be deemed a nerf, and get lots of flak. What about if/when CH is "unbalanced"? What if CH becomes like it was before their changes and it's pokeman wars again? What if they are one, if not thee, most powerful profession out there AGAIN? Will we be given additional things to compensate for that be able to effect CH pets with Traps and stuff?
The point is Calc, they ADDED something to a single pofession that didn't realy need anything added? When professions like us, or SL, or smuggler sit here in dire need of additions. What gives? Do you not question the devs at all anymore? Do they have you brain washed?
Just because they buy you your favorite flavor icecream, doesn't mean you have to not question them and ask them things. ![]()

Squidwalker,
It just seemed like you were coming down hard on the Doctors, when it was the CM issues that are being addressed. Why they added to Doctors and not nerf CMs (they are not afraid of nerfing anyone, IMO) I don't know, nor care. I do know these are the changes going on right now,but I disagree with them doing so much instead of taking baby steps. The devs will do what they will do, and I don't think I am qualified to discuss these matters. Sorry.
Edit: This isn't meant to be harsh...just a statement of fact.

I wasn't trying to come down on the docs, but rather the devs. I also realize that it was done to balance out the effectiveness of CM, for these GCW changes they are trying to do. That is fine. But my point is they added something to a single profession. One that as it self, didn't need anything further at this point. There are several professions needing some work, like us, Squadleader, and Smuggler. It would be one thing if all they had time/resources for was fixes, but how much new dungeons have they added? How many new schematics and weapons have they added? How much new wookie armor have they added? How many new abilities for professions have they added as well as tweeks and changes to professions and their skill mods? But I'll point out that none of those changes have been made to the professions that are in serious need. I mean we were told that our profession was not completed before launch. So how come with all the new development going in, even for the single professions, Ranger, Squad Leader and Smuggler get no loving?
Yea the devs might do what they want to do, but that means I'm doing what I do. That's complaining and ranting and giving my opinion to the devs. I have always been one to question my superiors and elders, so why wouldn't I be questioning some programmers for a game I paid for and pay a service fee for?
Calc, you are OUR correspondant. I guess I just expect you to take to heart this professions needs and desires to the devs. I would think and hope you would share your concerns and what you take to them, here on these forums, with the members of the ranger community. If not, then what excactly is a correspondant for? If we don't see you fighting for us, especially when other professions are getting development and we aren't, then we are going to think you are doing nothing. I'm not saying you are doing nothing, but unless we hear about it, we can only assume nothing is being done. And with no results to show that something was happening, that just strengthens the observation.
I have recently sent a PM to the pistoleer Corr. I know he is MIA for a while for RL reasons. But I wanted to express to him that I would like to see something pushed to the devs. I want to hear a committed answer from them for near future of fixing pistoleer. Not balancing it, just fixing the broken specials. We were told that would be done in the CB, but that is now postponed indefinately. So we deserve to get pistoleer fixed in the near future. I expressed to Randonb that I want to hear some positive feedback on that after the Aug Meet up.
Being the players of the game that is the sole existance of the devs jobs, I think we deserve more feedback then we have been getting. They make additions with out any notice or discussion before hand. They ignore please and logical arguments and statements of needed game changes. It's how things work.
the devs have stated that CM attacks are actually 'reverse heals', and that recoding the whole healing system to bring a PvP reduction to 'offensive heals' would be nearly impossible without also breaking 'defensive heals'.
the devs have tried more than a few fixes to the CM imbalance. the decision to add resist buffs and pointblank area cures is, so far, the best way to address the problem.
while adding abilities to the doc profession might not make some people happy... what profession should have gotten these additions instead?

It isn't just CM's it is the DOTs from DOT weapons as well... this is partly related I think to the weapon delay they forced on us... supposedly people were hitting rapidly with multiple DOT weapons to lay a lot of damage on people..

I don't see it as a matter of 'Doctors work and they got more stuff.' It is a matter of CM being too powerful (being able to heal a mostly unhealable pool) and this being the easiest way to 'fix' them in a quick timeframe. The reason Docs got the extra stuff is because they are the CM balance.
You will be seing a lot of changes to COMBAT come through in the future. This is an effort toBALANCE COMBAT in small stages due to the delay of the COMBAT BALANCE. It is not about giving stuff to professions just so they can have new stuff or so they can work better.
Well then I surely hope they get to making some changes in Ranger for these said minor combat fixes. We sure have come up with enough, good, valid ones.

Nor would I, nor have I, ever waited on a buff when I was given (key word - given = freebie) one.As usual, I am confused. What is it you can't drop unbuffed? The DWB and Geo cave not counting.JB
Try taking down some high level nightsisters, or rancors not being buffed, and not using something like conceal shot.
Buffs help in fighting high level mobs, or spamming specials. I get buffed when I'm trying to level, but since my alternate is a master doctor, that isn't a problem for me.
I agree though, if one fights mid-level creatures, and is somewhat smart about fighting (lure one out at a time), buffs aren't a necessity.
