Well, I am just thrilled you can somehow guess where the resources are...good for you...I can't....I don't have that magical ability...I need to survey for them. Aside from that, they just need to be as fair to us as they were to IDers and all the other professions. I want a point reduction in ranger to make up for having to get master scout. PERIOD.

Jedi are getting something like /jedicloak and Rifleman are getting a /coverup command both things take them off the radar. Granted Rifleman cant move but imagine if someone was heading to take out a base with five rifleman coveredup on the ground. Would be intersting huh? I see a new FOTM coming....

I don't agree with a skill point reduction. To me, thats a cop out. I would much rather see our abilities improved. I'd really like to see our traps work against EVERYTHING. I'd also like to see us be immune to disease and poisons. In addition to Rifleman/Jedi getting radar invisibility, why can't our Conceal skill give us that ability, while allowing us to move, unlike the sedentary Rifleman?

Oh we will stand out from the crowd alright. We'll be the only mugs to have such a high SP requirement to master our elite profession.

I want for my profession what every other elite class is getting, I do NOT want the shaft just because I chose ranger. Reducing our skill points so we have what every other elite profession is getting is FAIR.

They went our of their way to balance out all the elite classes BUT OURS.

PS.....WHAT is the point of having all those great harvesting skills when we can not even kill the animals that drop them????? WE need the healing skills and a master combat profession to accomplish this. I have no desire to try and kill nasty mobs when I can not even keep myself healed. Have you tried the non medic skill heals? You have to wait an eternity before you can heal again for a tiny little heal. It needs to be fair.

I'd have to agree as saying that Rangers still need to master scout yet both Doctor and Combat Medic no longer need to master the Medic profession is a direct contradiction of how things should operate. It's understandable under the current system that Rangers have to master scout just as BH's, Commando's, Doctor's and Combat Medic's have to master their basic level; however, keeping the Master Scout as a must for Ranger and removing it from all other professions is a direct insult. Add to this it's nearly impossible now for players who are Master Combat Elite+ Master Ranger to obtain anything FS related past the novice boxes as one has to choose which is more valuable: bonuses from FS or Novice Medic to which isn't a hard choice. Under this build Master Combat Elite + Master Ranger is prevented from participating in 40%+ of the game since most of it is going FS centric.

On a side note, who was the developer who thought Rangers should wear Battle Armor? I'd gladly trade off the Scout Trooper armor stuff from Rifleman to have Battle Armor as it seems much more fitting for a Elite Scout profession to wear *gasp* scout armor. All in all I'm liking how the CU is shaping up; however, I cannot justify wasting all my skill points into a profession that is still broken and non-viable in both the PvP and PvE arena (offense/profession stacking will still be better than the +25 to-hit for range attacks received from Ranger). Though.. if changes aren't made now Rangers can blast the forums saying "We waste 140 skill points just to become master".

If we take don't have to master Scout, everyone will be running around being Aragorn or something...
But, let's make each box in Ranger 1 point smaller.. And of course, make Ranger more useful, get better abilities and stuff like that!

Another day, yet the same battle...Recon armor (aka Scout armor) is weak vs. kinetic damage. As things stand right now, we would be gimped if they devs gave us the Recon armor cert. I know y'all want your Scout trooper armor, but unless the devs move it to another category, it would hurt us more than help us.

Anyone who's ranged and is getting hit by kinetic damage is doing something wrong anyway imo . I honestly don't think I'll be wearing any battle armour though. Might throw on some recon for faction stuff. Will see...

You can have battle armour from ranger and be protected against the majority of creature attacks and some ranged, or if you are ranged then you will have your recon armour so you can use that too if you prefer. It gives a good balance of choice whilst still giving us some protection where its needed most (unless you are not going to get hit heh)

That's another thing people aren't considering. Your combat profession will really be what determines your armor type. There are very few (but some, I know) Rangers that don't/won't have a combat profession (as evidenced by the SP nerf cries). If you want Scout armor, pick up Rifleman.

Hhmmm, maybe its due to my lack of tracking abilities outside of the game but the posts on the test center board that were mirroring what was being discussed here and in other posts seems to have gone "poof".

A little bit of something positive just occured to me.... If we rangers ever manage to get any semblance of combat viabilaty post cu, we may actually have a pvp function. Can you say counter sniping. A rifleman may drop of the radar, but I bet they still leave tracks. And espececially if we get some form of stealth for ourselves... this could be really fun.
