Not only will the employees of SOE take the time to test this, but they won't allow the people who pay to test it either. Since the CU being shoved to live to "reveal any hidden errors that would not be found on the Test servers," they will, without thinking about it, bring anything on TC to live in 3 days time.

They don't know how to manage an online rpg, do they?

I've pretty much settled into the Master Ranger role.

You can gimp me.

You can give away my skills.

But you cannot make me quit. I am not an uber stacker but I can and do hunt anything.

For the obstacles before meI will find a way around.

If I cannot find a way around I will find a way through.

I for one do not want a skill point reduction I want viable working skills for the points I have invested that build on the Scout skills skills I have aquired.

A Ranger should be a master of the wilds, able to do combat with all manner of creature or being.

We must remain unique, and not become a squad leader, commando, bounty hunter clone FOTM.

As far as people respec'ing into ranger welcome why should you not be welcome. You have accepted the limitations of this brotherhood.

I challenge you to not get to depressed, have patience, and remember the ranger creed.

Thou shall not wear those vile unmentionablethings made by tailors.

You've just stated the exact feelings I have for the whole situation with ranger.

I just respeced back into ranger a few days ago, so maybe I'm speaking out of turn here, but I want to make my voice heard too. Quite frankly I'm upset by the change to camo. Granted, I don't have as much right to be upset as all of you that have been rangers all this time, but it's still a slap in the face to a profession that is so often overlooked until someone needs a ranger.

I most likely won't be selling camo kits. I don't mind helping crafters, without them I wouldn't have a rifle in the first place. If a crafter askes me for a camo kit, I'll gladly apply camo to them, and explain that it's more effective because I applied it. The only people who will get camo kits are a couple of RL friends and my in-game wife, who's a BE. She's been really supportive of rangers and respects us, she even told me that rather than take something from my profession (no matter how useful) she'll rely on her own mask scent without me there to apply her camo.

I love being a ranger and I proudly wear my Master Ranger tag. While part of me wants to jump ship and stack pistoleer, carbineer, or BH on top of my rifle skills, I'm too damn stubborn to follow the herd. I like it when people see me and say "Wow, a ranger!".

They can take my camo, my snares and roots, they can make my camo useless to a large portion of the player base by changing the stupid aggro system to use D&D style "levels", but they can't give my Master Ranger title to anyone without them spending the skill points to get it.

Believe me, if you willingly respec'd your way into ranger, knowing about all of our issues...you have EVERY right to be just as upset as the rest of us. I doubt you'll find many people here who hold respecing to ranger against you (not like other forum communities, which will remain nameless).

well i'm gonna make money selling camo kits to crafters.....never turn away another source of revenue

Me too

Gonna do Lok, Dath and probably Endor kits, also kits for the wookie planet onceI have done the quest and got the recipe.

I will not bother for the other planets I don't think, since the cl of the wild creatures and npc's is so low.

keep in mind that most crafters are double masters, and are CL1. Teero, my crafting account, has virtually everything in the galaxy con'ing purple for him.

Hmmm, good point.

Maybe I will try and make a selection and sell them singly, not in crates, and see what the customers want

That will be a big project.

er, am I understanding the patch notes correctly ? The bit about "grey cons will no longer attack a player, even if the mob is anaggro" ?

Does that mean that a level1 crafter grouped with a lvl80 fighter will have nothing to fear except aggro NPC's ?

Does that mean that nobody will really need the Ranger camo kits anyway ?

SWG is 3/4 level-based and 1/4 skill-based atm, and doesn't really know its 4ss from its elbow.

*sigh*

OK, have they done justice to the Kashyyyk camo kit? With anyone being able to Camo themselves (once they get a kit from a Ranger, of course), is it as bad as some of us feared? I haven't gotten a chance to play around on TC-Bria, other wise I'd know the answers to these questions....

They'll get a camo kit from this master ranger when they pry it from my cold dead hand.

Amen. I'm not even giving them to my guild, and I give all sorts of stuff to my guild.

My alt is a CL3 Artisan/Merchant, and I doubt I'll even use them with *him.* (And if I do, I'm sure as heck not advertising it. )

I have had my alt for a Year now. Just recently I finally got my third kill accessed on me.

I was one shot off my swoop by a freakin spider on Endor.

Since then whenever I am going surveying with my Alt. I dual log and group with my CL80 Ranger toon.

I then go on my merry way and conduct business.

My CL1 toon is a master Krettle killer on Tat when grouped. I throw 100K blocks of steel and squish them on harvestor runs. PHEAR ME!

Once you group your toon assumes the CL of the highest toon in the group. SOooo Yes by defacto your CL1 get the damage mitigation of a CL80.

Last night the closest I got to a one shot was my Swoop got nailed hard and taken down to almost nothing in a drive by lag spawn.

Camo kits should prevent this from even happening in the future. But the best thing you can do for your CL1 toon is group up with a CL80 toon then go out and conduct business as usual.

Thats the Crafter buff now group up and stay alive!

Also always wear protection you never know what kind of disease you will catch in the wilds.
