Every single time I've been in a hunting party with people I didnt know, similar stuff has happened. I think they do assume the camo works no matter what. I always camo them up first, and then when we get near a high-level lair, I try to get them to hold up while I move in and kite one critter at a time to the hunting party. They never listen, though. I always end up being the last one standing, despite being only CL 35.

If they would just sit still and listen for a minute, I would explain to them how it works, its limitations, as well as how to use it when hunting. I even try to get them to rally on top of a large hill from the critters, so I can use my terrain nav bonus to outrun the critters when i kite them to the rest of the group. But, no, these guys want to run down the hill at the critters, breaking their camo along the way, making my role absolutely useless.

Last time it happened, I just stayed back, let the idiots do the majority of the fighting, and just put enough shots on target to let me harvest. Rifleman and a low CL let me hang in the back and not draw the critters' attention.

They dont want to take a minute to learn how the camo works, then dont camo them up. Camo yourself and hide in the shadows while they are getting eaten.

Maybe you can make them beleive that if you get Krayt Dragon faction they will grant them a quest LOL :-)

Sounds like a real 'Leeroy Jenkins' type there.

Tell them there's a quest in anchorhead that allows them to gain Krayt Faction.. but you don't remember who grants it. So they have to talk to all the people in town... should keep them busy

When in a group with players I don't know I like to hang back with my rifle and pluck away. Then use my harvest droid to harvest resources. All the while watching the incaps.

I usually do most of my hunting solo. I sometimes get aggitated when in a group that prefers the bumrush method of taking down critters. Or, a group that only wants to go out hunting nonagressive creatures. I mean, what is the real challenge in hunting a herd of passive dewbacks? Shoot one til it is dead, move on to the next. Big deal.

That is why I joined the squill hunting commandos I mentioned in my original post. "FINALLY", I thought, "people hunting real creatures rather than the pushovers." It just turned out to be more of a challenge than I bargained for.

Maybe it is just me, but if I am in a group with a squad leader in command and he is saying to fire on his target, I do. If a doc is saying stay within 32m of him, I do. If a melee fighter asks to have a target slowed or rooted so he does not have to chase it down, I oblige. Is it so hard to ask people to allow me to pull off one critter at a time rather than have them spray firing and flame throwing everything at once? Apparently so.

Unless I am hunting<<CL82>> mega creatures or critters with ranged attacks,I rarely wear armor. Because when I hunt, the creature rarely has an opportunity to get close enough to hit me. People thinkI am crazy for hunting without armor. I say, "If you're a good enough hunter, you won't need it."

I think pulling a target is the hardest thing to accomplish within a group.

Seldom when I ask everyone to stay put while I pull the "next one" will they. Routinely while I pull I will see the critters all notice someone has entered their detection range only to notice I now have unwanted help pulling the "next one".

Most of the time it just makes a hairy situation worse.

Sometimes however,as a Ranger you just have to step back during thathairy moment smell the roses and watch the mayhem that ensues.

In the guild I am in one of our new players is going to master Ranger and Rifles, God bless her soul she is not interested in Jedi at this moment just being a Ranger.
