My biggest hunt ever was 100k Dathomirian insect meat hunted over four afternoons and evenings, with a good chunk of oneevening spent running away from Nightsistersand getting beat on by a Dark Jedi Knight with a friend. Sold for 40 cpu for my biggest sale ever, even after subtracting costs for an entire rifle, 8 crates of powerups and more than a few stacks fo stims.
It wasn't all /burstharvest, though. The only time I had ever been to Dathomir before was to visit the POI, back when I had not the skills to be wandering about such an inhospitable planet. I only killed a few rancors (mutant, enraged, etc.), since I wanted to concentrate on the bugs. I am planning another trip to go rancor hunting. The place is lousy with 'em, so it's time for a little population control...

Well I'm not a ranger yet but since I am going to take that path I hope nobody minds if I go ahead and make a reply here, my best was Corellian Herbivore meat, about 4-5k in 8 hours or so, also did the Corellian avian meat, had about 2k in 5 hours.

Back when I was taking "Orders" from doctors and armorers I spent a whole week bringing in different resources with my team of 2 masters, 2 dabblers, and a few scouts. By the time the week was over most of us were threatening to quit the game. So we stopped taking all the orders and we decided to take only the orders we wanted to do.
My best harvest was like 58k Dantooinian Leathery hide off of Slinking Voritor Hunters. Got that much in about 3 hours of hunting with a team of 8 or so, and with like 7 of us harvesting. That was my favorite hunt ever. I haven't brought in more than 5k of anything since.
Guess I'm not one of the crazy ones I'm affraid.

Oh, the horrors of Nabooian avian...as an MR2 (Master Rifle and Ranger) I spent an evening just running around Naboo on Phydeaux (my trusty dewback mount) shooting at any mega-duck and peko-peko I came across....I was hearing the call of the Kaduu in my sleep that night....I think I managed 10k or so of the stuff before I couldn't take any more

I hunt pretty slowly to keep it from getting not-fun and boring, I camp out and pet my wrix for comfort in the terrible wilds and I go into battle with caution, without buffs/food by default, and if I want to look at the pretty animations (I'm pure melee) I go without armour too. That means as far as efficiency goes, I suck 
In a group as a TKM I got 46K of various rancor resources in 5-6 hours (long time ago, during my first time as a Master Ranger)
My latest accomplishment was during my second and current Master Ranger stint, did a contract for 100K Endor Wooly Hide not long ago as a Master Swordsman. Because of the large amount I went off my usual ways and got buffs, did 2.5-3 hour hunts, one or sometimes two per day for5 or 6 days. If I was unlucky I'd get 5K an hour, if I was lucky I'd get 15K.
(I don't take missions, I go to the area where I know from experience my target animals usually reside and just hunt around there.)
All in all, I hunt the slow way that's kept me interested in this game doing the same thing over and over (Ive done master swordsman and teras kasi master as well as master brawler, worked on pikeman and fencer too) since I started. I would have given up a long time ago had I done things the efficient way.

One Saturday from the time I got up to the time i went to bed:
150K mix of Hide Bone and Meat
Prey: Dune Kimogila's and Gurks
Loot: 36 Kimo Scales
Purchaser: MBE and my Guild
I cannot take full credit for this one tho, i had a small group of about 3 or 4 other people with me who harvested large amounts and donated it all to me, these stats are all that i remember from that day.

Quite proud of my guild......4 nights of 8 of us hunting on naboo netted us over 100k of avain

I harvested exactly 0 resources this weekend (why oh why can't we harvest Stomies) until my Doc friend told me about the 5 Kimos he came across...

Record was Yarvin. Various meats..just killing everything. 250k in 4 hours. This was with no backup just me and had to wait on poision a few times.

10k Naboo avian in 14 hours. There are static spawns just outside kadaara. Walk from above the cloning center ( just below scout trainer) on out. About 20 to 30m out is a clump of trees. Nunas, chubas, and capper spineflaps spawn on that spot ad nauseum. Talk about MINDLESS. I didn't know anything about an afk killing macro, or such ( was right after Chimaera went live, so had no real killing skills, and wasn't even master scout yet). Next time I take a contract for naboo avian, I'm going to look up that macro, and see if I can add a /harvest command. Somehow I don't think I'll get near as much. I dunno, those macros start looking reaaaaaalllllyy good after 14 hours straight of mind numbing killing.....

For someone who isn't a ranger. Charprime on Intrepid, has harvested over 1million units of the current Dath leathery. Yep, over 1 million units personally. He is typically insane He shoulda been a ranger.

I'll bet he was a scout wtih 2 combat professions...
