Thread: Rangers are worthless
Just a couple of days ago I made many people very happy being a ranger, why? Cause of the bugged act2 last mission waypoints, where you'd lose the waypoint to the commander giving you the last waypoint.
So I proceeded in the approximate direction where the commander should be and /areatrack'ed him down. Convenient, there were a LOT of happy people around ![]()
Also, tracking is invaluable when gathering a specific resource, say I want herbivore meat on corellia (which i usually do
) I head out of town and start areatracking, working my way from herbivore lair to the next until i hit the mountains, then i start tracking for some mountain murras, soon enough, presto, mountain murras 400m thataway.. easy.
I've not tried this yet but I would imagine tracking down Krayts would be just as easy.
Actually, I've found that traps are quite useful when a creature *is* social. Yesterday I was hunting Humbaaba on Talus to work on the grind to TK novice. I think that Humbabas were one of the creatures that were made social by the latest patch. So I'd find a pair sitting together, make sure I was unarmed, and taunt one from about 60m out. This would bring his buddy running, so I'd toss p-dart at him to slow him down, haul ass to ideal rifle range, stack a couple of bleeds, and then toss a stink bomb before wading in to tank him.
I can't wait for my AOE ranger traps: they'll keep me from having to spend HAM on debuffs when I'm going unarmed and I get mobbed.
It's all about tactics, I guess.
